🏺 Paint & Fire Pottery: Creating Meaningful Moments 🎨
🤗 A Family Affair: Where Passion Meets Pottery
Looking for a unique way to unwind, unleash your artistic side, and make lasting memories with loved ones? Paint & Fire Pottery offers an inviting place where you can paint your own ceramic piece, regardless of your experience. Owner, Brenda Apland, whose warm smile and enthusiasm for nurturing others' creative spirit have made this studio a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike.
Behind the scenes, Brenda's family plays a crucial role in the studio's success. Her sister, Diane, a dedicated NICU respiratory nurse, is a co-owner and silent partner, while Brenda and their father, Paul, skillfully craft the bisque (term for ceramic pieces before they're fully glazed) at an offsite location. This close-knit family dynamic is the heart and soul of Paint & Fire Pottery, and you can feel it as you walk in.
Committed to providing a friendly, affordable, and stress-free experience with no studio or sitting fees, you can take your time and enjoy the therapeutic process of painting. The studio's extensive collection, made from their impressive 25,000 molds and vast array of paint colors, ensures that there’s always something new and exciting to work on.
Under Brenda's guidance, you'll find the inspiration to bring your artistic vision to life, whether a personalized gift, decorating your home, or simply enjoying quality time with friends and family. The tranquil ambiance fosters connection and inspiration, providing a much-needed escape from the daily grind.
While the studio and customers have earned recognition at trade shows and competitions, the true reward lies in the joy and sense of accomplishment that comes from crafting your unique masterpiece.
Visit Paint & Fire Pottery, where you'll not only create a beautiful work of art but also become part of a warm community that cherishes creativity, family, and making unforgettable memories together.

🧓 Not Your Average Senior Center!

The Colorado Springs Senior Center has come a long way from its grocery store roots, and now it’s finally getting the home it deserves. This new 23,000-square-foot facility—years in the making—is designed to bring our older community members back together in a space that’s thoughtful, bright, and built just for them.
I love that it’s not just about programs (although they have over 200!)—it’s about helping people feel connected and alive in this season of their life. Whether you're looking for a painting class or a place to play cards, this new center has a little magic in it—and the ribbon-cutting on Aug 29 from 10am-2pm, is your first chance to see it all come to life. 🏷️ Electric Vehicles in COS, Deal or Gimmick?

If you’ve seen electric vehicle ads with shockingly low lease prices, you’re not imagining things—it’s a temporary sweet spot for consumers. Federal and state tax credits for EVs are about to drop significantly. Right now, buyers can still take advantage of up to $7,500 in federal incentives and $3,500 from Colorado, but those deals begin expiring on Sept 30 and Jan 1, respectively. That’s why dealers are eager to move inventory, and shoppers are rushing in.
Just remember: most of these rock-bottom offers are for leases, and you’ll want to read the fine print, especially regarding mileage limits and purchase costs at lease-end. This might not be the right move for everyone, but it's definitely “good to know” info if you’ve been toying with the idea of going electric. Full Story
💊 Will Rx Prices Sky Rocket?

With new federal discussions about raising tariffs on imported drugs—some as high as 250%—local health organizations like Peak Vista are keeping a close eye on what it could mean for patients. Many medications, or their active ingredients, come from overseas (think Ireland, Germany, China, and India), making the U.S. highly dependent on international sources.
While the goal is to boost domestic production in the long term, the short-term effect could hit patients’ wallets. Peak Vista is especially concerned for those already struggling to afford their prescriptions and says they’re staying focused on protecting access. No changes yet, but it’s one of those behind-the-scenes developments worth knowing about—especially if you're keeping an eye on future healthcare costs. Full Story
