🌲 County Pauses Nature Center Plans

Fox Run Nature Center on Hold

Mock up for Fox Run Nature Center

Plans for the $13 million Fox Run Nature Center have been paused as El Paso County officials cite the current economic climate as the reason to hold off. The project, slated for Fox Run Regional Park, was expected to open in 2026 and has already raised $5.5 million through donations and grants, which will remain in trust.

After more than 20 community input sessions, the county now has development-ready plans in place and says the project could move forward when funding and economic conditions improve. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to continue enjoying Bear Creek and Fountain Creek Nature Centers, as well as the county’s 8,000 acres of parks and 200 miles of trails. Full Story

📝 CSPD Needs Volunteer Helpers

VIN Verification Program

The Colorado Springs Police Department is recruiting volunteers for its VIN Verification Program, where participants will assist Community Service Officers in verifying vehicle identification numbers and ensuring paperwork is processed accurately. Volunteers commit to two-hour shifts, offered three days a week, with full training provided. Open to those 18 and older, the program offers a meaningful way to connect with others, support CSPD’s mission, and give back to the community in a hands-on way.

💥 Extra Noise from Fort Carson Drills

Fort Carson’s 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team

Brace yourself! Fort Carson’s 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team is in the middle of field gunnery training that runs through Nov 7. The training validates armored vehicle crews and is a routine part of their cycle. Residents south of the main post may experience more noise and dust, both day and night, while the exercises are underway. Though it can be disruptive, the activity highlights the readiness efforts of soldiers stationed here in Colorado Springs. Full Story

💡 The AI Shortcut That Saved Me Hours

Join AI For Everyone Now

Ever feel buried under paperwork you keep putting off? I did too. I had 90 business spotlight applicant PDFs sitting in a folder—none of them were in my CRM or spreadsheet. Ugh! 😩

Instead of manually opening each file and copy-pasting info one by one, I used AI (Copilot or ChatGPT both work). I simply uploaded the files and asked it to pull the key contact info—name, business, email, phone—output was clean info I could copy straight into Excel.

No typing No reformatting No stress

This saved me HOURS (possibly days!) And more importantly—it gave me momentum again. Pretty cool, right?! 😊

But here’s the real magic: You don’t need to be techy to use this. You just need to ask clearly and let AI do the heavy lifting.

Imagine using it to:

  • 📊 Turn receipts into a budget spreadsheet

  • 📚 Extract info from school forms or medical docs

  • 📦 Organize product labels or packaging details

  • 📇 Pull contact info from business cards or your 40 yr old address book!

  • 📝 Turn handwritten recipes into a searchable file—instantly

If you’ve got a pile of “someday” tasks sitting around… this might be your answer.

🤗 I want to personally invite you to join me inside AI For Everyone—a FREE community where we turn overwhelm into clarity, and scattered ideas into real progress.

It’s where the magic happens. Come see what’s working—and what’s possible!

🥣 Wheat Berry and Roasted Veggie Bowl

Wheat Berry and Roasted Veggie Bowl

Recipe by the endless meal

Here's a wheat berries recipe that's both filling and full of fall flavor. It's chewy wheat berries, butternut squash, crispy bacon, caramelized onions, raisins, and pecans tossed in a tangy-sweet dressing. It's a festive side for dinners, and it's easy to make, too!
