🔔 9/11 We Remember Together

This morning first responders and military members will gather at the base of the Manitou Springs Incline to honor those who died on 9/11, including the brave individuals who ran into danger that day. The Incline will be closed to the public until 9 am while participants start the climb—many of them wearing full firefighting gear as a tribute to the weight and sacrifice of that day. At 8am they will share a few words before starting. Full Story
The CSFD also recently honored one of their own. Retired Captain Patrick Rogacki was laid to rest last week after a long battle with job-related cancer linked to his time working at Ground Zero after the 2001 attacks. He served CSFD for 35 years and was part of Colorado Task Force 1, working tirelessly in the search and recovery efforts.
Lastly, at noon today, all are invited to a community remembrance at Mission BBQ (1391 Interquest Pkwy). The Honor Bell will toll following the National Anthem, and attendees will have time for reflection and connection. Whether you're seeking a moment of peace or just want to stand with others in remembrance, you're welcome.
10 am today: 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at Mitchell High School. The event will feature performances and participation from:
Mitchell High School’s JROTC Cadets, Band, and Choir
Colorado Springs Fire Department
Colorado Springs Police Department
Members of the Yancey family
🕊️ From Debate to Tragedy

Putting politics aside, this is a heartbreaking loss for a family—Charlie Kirk was a father, husband, and son. His life was cut short yesterday after being shot during an event in Utah. Locally, the loss is especially felt as he was scheduled to speak today at the Truth and Liberty Conference in Woodland Park. While many didn’t always agree with his views, some here appreciated his ability to debate passionately and clearly.
Organizers of the conference at Charis Bible College have chosen to continue the event in his honor, with a special tribute planned tonight (closed to the public.) In response to this tragedy and another school shooting near Denver on the same day, the Woodland Park Police Dept and other local agencies have increased their law enforcement presence to ensure community safety.
Leaders from across the political spectrum, including Governor Polis and Mayor Yemi, have condemned the violence. All emphasized that political disagreement must never turn into violence, and that civil discourse—no matter how passionate—should always remain peaceful. Full Story
🚒 Safety Boost for NE Springs

Fire Station 24 officially opened on the northeast side of Colorado Springs, near Interquest and Powers. The project faced potential delays due to the city’s $11.5M budget shortfall, raising concerns earlier this summer about whether the station would be ready in time. But city leadership chose to prioritize public safety, asking other departments to cut spending so the fire station could open on schedule.
With Station 24 now operational, residents in the area can expect faster emergency response times and a stronger sense of security as the neighborhood continues to grow. Full Story
💡 The AI Shortcut That Saved Me Hours
Ever feel buried under paperwork you keep putting off? I did too. I had 90 business spotlight applicant PDFs sitting in a folder—none of them were in my CRM or spreadsheet. Ugh! 😩
Instead of manually opening each file and copy-pasting info one by one, I used AI (Copilot or ChatGPT both work). I simply uploaded the files and asked it to pull the key contact info—name, business, email, phone—output was clean info I could copy straight into Excel.
✅ No typing ✅ No reformatting ✅ No stress
This saved me HOURS (possibly days!) And more importantly—it gave me momentum again. Pretty cool, right?! 😊 *Next week I’ll share WHY I DID NOT do it another way that may have saved me even MORE time!
But here’s the real magic: You don’t need to be techy to use this. You just need to ask clearly and let AI do the heavy lifting.
Imagine using it to:
📊 Turn receipts into a budget spreadsheet
📚 Extract info from school forms or medical docs
📦 Organize product labels or packaging details
📇 Pull contact info from business cards or your 40 yr old address book!
📝 Turn handwritten recipes into a searchable file—instantly
If you’ve got a pile of “someday” tasks sitting around… this might be your answer.
🤗 I want to personally invite you to join me inside AI For Everyone—a FREE community where we turn overwhelm into clarity, and scattered ideas into real progress.
It’s where the magic happens. Come see what’s working—and what’s possible!
