🦍 Asha’s Baby Has a Name! Did You Pick It?

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s newest addition now has a name—Sully! After weeks of joyful anticipation, 462 community members joined the zoo’s baby-naming fundraiser, raising nearly $40K toward a much-needed new habitat for great apes. CMZoo reps says the winning name, Sully, fits this fuzzy little guy perfectly (I personally liked Ryder as he always rides on his momma’s back…as I have a feral cat named “Tree Hugger” as he climbs trees. 😁) Sully’s arrival marks the first gorilla birth at the zoo in over a decade. Born to Asha, a 33-year-old western lowland gorilla, Sully’s debut has sparked a wave of support not just for the zoo, but for gorilla conservation worldwide.
Which name was your favorite?
Donation and vote amounts:
Sully: $7,300
Abu: $4,346
Ryder: $2,805
👵 Protect Your Info, COS Seniors

Following yesterday’s info on Medicare Open Enrollment, here’s what you need to know to stay safe: this is a prime season for scammers targeting older adults. They often call pretending to be with Medicare, asking for personal details or trying to get you to switch plans. The Colorado Senior Medicare Patrol is warning seniors to be extra cautious—real representatives won’t ask for your Social Security number over the phone or avoid telling you what company they’re with.
Open Enrollment is open now through Dec 7, so take your time, ask questions, and always double-check before giving out any information. Your peace of mind—and coverage—matter. Full Story
🏓 Pickleball Drama Unfolds

Courtesy of The Gazette
Pickleball is booming in Colorado Springs, but behind the scenes, a beloved local nonprofit is folding—and not everyone’s ready to let it go. After 13 years of championing the sport, the Pikes Peak Pickleball Association (PPPA) plans to dissolve by the end of the year. That decision, made solely by the board, has upset many longtime members who feel they were left out of the conversation.
Some are now rallying to form a new group and preserve the community spirit they believe still has plenty of bounce left. At the heart of this debate? A deep emotional connection to a sport that has brought so many people together. Full Story
