π¬ Your Address at Risk?

A Colorado Springs homeowner recently discovered that a business had been registered using his home address without his consent after receiving multiple pieces of mail addressed to an unfamiliar LLC. Upon further investigation, he learned the registered agent tied to the filing is linked to dozens of other businesses across Colorado, many connected to residential addresses.
He filed a fraud report with the Secretary of Stateβs office, which has identified more than 5,000 business fraud cases since 2023 and is currently investigating nearly 1,800. While new safeguards have been implemented in recent years, filings using legitimate Colorado residential addresses can still be accepted without additional verification. Itβs a sobering reminder to monitor your mail and business records carefully, as this type of fraud could happen to anyone. Full Story
π Leaner Year for City Parks

As part of 2026 budget adjustments, Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation will reduce services across the park system, resulting in approximately $950,000 in savings. Changes include closing about 25% of neighborhood park restrooms, discontinuing most portable restrooms, suspending operation of the Julie Penrose Fountain, reducing landscape maintenance, mowing, and repair funding for playgrounds and parking lots.
Additionally, the large wooden vertical skate ramp at Memorial Park, closed since September 2025 due to safety concerns and deterioration from outdoor exposure, will be permanently removed, while the smaller ramp will remain in use. Officials emphasized that despite these adjustments, parks will remain open and prioritized for safety.
π₯ A Golden Moment 46 Years in the Making
Team USA captured Olympic menβs hockey GOLD for the first time since 1980 with a thrilling 2β1 overtime victory over Canada. In a fast-paced, high-stakes matchup between longtime rivals, the Americans relied on a dominant performance from goaltender Connor Hellebuyck (plays for the Winnepeg Jets in the NHLβ¦thatβs going to be an awkward day back to work!), who held off relentless Canadian pressure throughout the game. With 42 shots on goal and blocked 41.
After regulation ended tied, Jack Hughes delivered the game-winning goal early in overtime, sealing the historic win. The victory marks just the third menβs hockey gold medal in U.S. history and ends a 46-year drought, reigniting national pride on the Olympic stage.
