Why do hot springs make great hosts?

👉They know how to make everyone feel warm and welcome! 🤣

🦊 Nature’s Surprise Visitor

A rare black fox was spotted in a Colorado Springs neighborhood last week. The animal, seen around 8am near Barnes and Oro Blanco, has a striking black coat with a white-tipped tail.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife experts say it is a red fox with a unique genetic mutation causing its dark fur. Foxes are common in the state and are often active in early morning and evening hours.

Officials advise residents not to feed foxes, as it can harm them, and recommend keeping small pets indoors when foxes are known to be in the area. Full Story

⚠️ Reminder for Colorado Drivers

As Spring arrives, more motorcyclists are returning to the roads, prompting safety reminders from the Colorado State Patrol. Last year, troopers investigated 750 motorcycle crashes statewide, including 52 fatalities, with many incidents linked to preventable causes such as speeding, lane violations, and distracted driving.

Officials say awareness from both drivers and riders plays a key role in reducing crashes, especially early in the season when road conditions may still include sand and debris left from winter storms. Riders are encouraged to ensure they are properly licensed, wear protective gear, and follow traffic laws, while drivers should stay alert and watch carefully for motorcycles sharing the road. ✈️ Update: USAFA Cadet Chapel Project

Restoration of the historic U.S. Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel continues after 7 years of construction, with crews recently installing the final weatherproofing panel around the building. The project began in 2019 following significant water damage and has grown far more complex than originally expected due to asbestos removal, custom materials, and pandemic delays.

The restoration focuses on preserving original elements such as the stained glass, pews, and organs while reinforcing the structure to prevent future damage. The chapel remains enclosed inside a protective structure while work continues, with the project now expected to be completed in August 2028. Full Story

♨️ Healing Waters of Colorado

Colorado’s hot springs have long been treasured for healing, history, and connection. Also, they offer real wellness benefits too.

As for favorites, mine is still hands down Pagosa Springs at the Resort. If you stay at the resort, there is something magical about soaking after it closes to the public and soaking in the dark sky with all those stars!

What’s your favorite hot springs spot in Colorado?
