🔥 Fire Explodes to 4,500+ Acres

The 24 Fire burning along Hwy 115 has grown to more than 4,595 acres with no containment reported, as crews from multiple agencies, including the CSFD, continue working to slow its spread. More than 170 firefighters, along with aircraft support, are actively building and reinforcing control lines while monitoring hot spots.
Hwy 115 remains closed between Mile Point 18 and 39, and pre-evacuation notices have been issued for areas such as Sandy Creek Ranch Heights, with some evacuation orders already in place nearby. While weather conditions have offered some support, the risk of high winds continues to challenge response efforts, making it important for residents in affected areas to stay alert and prepared.
🐠 Interactive Aquarium Now Open
Jungle Reef is now open inside Chapel Hills Mall, offering Colorado Springs a new hands-on animal experience that’s just getting started. After hosting a friends and family night to prepare their team, the family-built, privately funded project has launched with a phased opening approach to ensure the health and safety of its animals. While some exhibits are still in progress, visitors can already enjoy guided tours, reptile encounters, interactive bird experiences and opportunities to feed tortoises, along with meeting newly arrived rescue stingrays as they adjust to their environment.
Open weekdays from 11am to 7pm (8pm Sat) and Sundays from noon to 6pm, Jungle Reef invites the community to experience the early stages of something still evolving and growing right here in our community.
⚠️ Misinformation Addressed

Amid growing discussion in the community, Colorado Springs City Council leadership is clarifying that the Southeast Strong Neighborhood Plan has not yet been scheduled for a vote and has never appeared on a formal agenda. The plan, which has been in development for several years, is currently still under review as council members take time to evaluate its potential impacts and consider any needed adjustments before moving it to a public work session for further discussion.
While conversations and questions continue across the city, officials are encouraging residents to stay informed through verified sources and remain engaged as the process moves forward.

✋ The Real Cause of Carpal Tunnel
A perspective on carpal tunnel syndrome challenges the common belief that it's primarily caused by repetitive motions like typing…pointing to a different root cause that might surprise you and how to address it.
Remember, our Local Senior wellness educator Kristen Nielsen, founder of TogetherWon shares simple ways to gently train your brain and body together, helping you feel more confident about your balance over time.
I have to be honest, I’ve watch these myself and I am in constant admiration of how Kristen challenges us to be stronger in such simple ways. We are so fortunate to have her wisdom 2x per month here to help us navigate real life with confidence.
