β οΈ Most Falls Happen Like This
Did you know most falls happen in the moments when you're stepping over something while your head is turned...reaching for a shelf, looking at a noise, sidestepping the dog. That split second of divided attention is where balance gets tricky.
Kristen Nielsen of TogetherWON breaks it down in this week's wellness video, and shows you exactly how to practice this at home.
π‘ Kristen's home tip: Try this near a counter or wall you can grab onto if you feel wobbly. Start slow, and let your body learn to trust itself again.

π² 49 Trees for 49 Years

Colorado Springs celebrated Arbor Day at Van Diest Park with a milestone moment: 49 consecutive years as a Tree City USA. To mark the occasion, City Forestry planted 49 trees and gave away 49 more to residents in southeast Colorado Springs.
Volunteers, students, and city staff all took part, continuing a tradition that stretches back to the cityβs earliest days. Officials say the growing tree canopy helps improve air quality, cool neighborhoods, support wildlife, and make our area a healthier, more beautiful place to live. Full Story
π 700-Pound Surprise Visitor in the Springs

Northern Colorado Springs residents got an unexpected wildlife encounter when a 700-pound female moose wandered into a neighborhood last Friday. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers responded by safely sedating the animal, loading her into a trailer, and transporting her to habitat west of the city. Officials say relocations like this are used when there is a safety concern for people or the animal.
With Coloradoβs moose population growing and more animals exploring suburban areas, sightings like this may happen more often. If you ever spot one nearby, experts recommend keeping dogs leashed, giving the animal plenty of room, and contacting wildlife officials rather than stepping in yourself. Full Story
π CSPD Releases Shooting Briefing
Colorado Springs Police Department has released a Significant Event Briefing regarding an officer-involved shooting that took place on Apr 4, 2026. The video outlines facts, circumstances, and other information investigators say can currently be shared with the public.
Officials also warn that the briefing contains graphic footage and descriptions that may be difficult for some viewers. The case remains under investigation, and additional updates could follow as the review moves forward.
