🤔 Why Darkness Throws Us Off

You've probably noticed it's harder to keep your balance when the lights go down. There's a good reason for that. In this video by Kristen Nielsen of TogetherWON she tells us why in this week's wellness video, and shows you exactly how to practice this at home.

💡 Kristen's home tip: Try this near a counter or wall you can grab onto if you feel wobbly. Start slow, and let your body learn to trust itself again.

Watch the NEW 60 second video below (updated monthly)! 👇

We are so fortunate to have her wisdom 2x per month here to help us navigate real life with confidence.

🚧 180 Miles Paved, 78,000 Potholes Fixed - 2025 Road Report Card

Colorado Springs Public Works had a seriously busy 2025 in the Public Works Annual Report 2025. Crews paved 180 miles of roadway, repaired 78,000 potholes, and kept Mountain Metro running for 3.1 million passenger trips. Meanwhile all this happened while pushing forward major projects like the Tejon Street Revitalization and Circle Drive Bridge replacement.

The voter-approved 2C Road Improvement Program just hit its 10th year, and the numbers show it's delivering what it promised.

🐻 This Nap Was Just Right

Did you see this?! Just east of Colorado Springs in Falcon last week, a homeowner got an unexpected houseguest. A 250-pound black bear wandered onto a property, tumbled into a basement window well, and simply... fell asleep. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers arrived, immobilized the bear, and with a little help from the homeowner and neighbors, safely extracted it and released it back into the wild. Although dangerous to have this bear so close, you have to admit…it’s pretty cute! 🐾

☀️ Solar’s Bright Future Has a Shadow

Rooftop solar is booming in Colorado Springs, around 1,000 new residents joined the net metering program recently, and Gov. Polis just signed a law allowing portable plug-in solar panels. But homeowners should know: Colorado Springs Utilities is proposing new grid connection fees and plans to present a new model at a May 18 board meeting. Worth watching if you're thinking about going solar. Full Story
