I'm 63 With $1.5M. Can I Spend $10K a Month?

You’ve saved $1.5 million. Now comes the real test.

Can it produce $10,000 a month, or will that pace drain your portfolio?

Most retirees do not get a clear answer until it is too late.

The issue is not just how much you have. It is whether your portfolio was built to pay you, not just grow.

That difference can determine whether your money lasts decades or starts breaking down early.

Sequence of returns, taxes on withdrawals, healthcare costs, and whether the 4% rule still applies all play a role.

Fiduciary advisors created a breakdown showing what drives sustainable income and why the same $1.5M can produce very different outcomes.

If you have $1M or more invested, do not guess.

Why do dentists make great detectives?

👉They always get to the ROOT of the problem!😂

💰 Will This County Tax Continue?

El Paso County commissioners are considering whether to ask voters to extend an existing 0.23% sales tax that brings in about $40M/yr for the Sheriff’s Office and other public safety needs.

Here's what the funding covers:

  • 197 law enforcement positions in the Sheriff's Office

  • Jail operations, training, and equipment

  • Emergency response capacity: calls have jumped 34% since 2012, while county population grew only 18%

This is not a vote to extend the tax yet. Commissioners first have to decide whether to put the question on the Nov 2026 ballot, where voters would ultimately make that decision.

The proposal gets its first formal reading today, July 27 at 3pm (no public discussion listed)

If you want to weigh in publicly, the 2nd reading and formal vote is Tues, Aug 4 at 9am, when commissioners are scheduled to discuss the proposal and take their final vote on whether it goes to voters.

🍿 $70 for Popcorn?

Remember when the souvenir from going to the movies was...the movie?

Collectible popcorn buckets tied to blockbuster films have become serious business, with some elaborate plastic versions selling for as much as $70. AMC reportedly expects about $100M in revenue this year from collectible buckets alone, while Cinemark says movie merchandise sales have jumped significantly in recent years.

Apparently, people aren't just buying them for popcorn either. Some limited-edition buckets become collectibles and wind up being resold online for even more.

Personally, give me the big bucket of popcorn (no butter, thank you very much) and, depending on how long that movie is, my free refill. 😂 I don't need another thing collecting dust to remember the movie. Although...if people are paying even MORE for these online, maybe I've been looking at this all wrong. Side hustle, anyone?

What about you? Do you still go to the movies, and would you ever spend $70 on a collectible popcorn bucket? Full Story

🦷 Are You Flossing Wrong?

Most of us have been flossing wrong our entire lives and it's doing more damage than we realize. Dr. Tikka breaks down the 1 mistake almost everyone makes, and how fixing it could save your gums (and your next dental bill). I started following his advice myself. Watch it below. 👇
