π© Pikes Peak Makes History
Colorado's 150th birthday came with a sweet new achievement! We did it!! On Sat, 285 people gathered at the summit of Pikes Peak to simultaneously dunk doughnuts into coffee, officially earning a Guinness World Records title.
The event celebrated one of the mountain's best-known traditions: the famous high-altitude Summit House doughnuts. With the record now in the books, Pikes Peak adds another memorable chapter to its long history, combining breathtaking views with a little hometown fun.
Thanks to everyone who took part, Colorado now has one more record to celebrate along with its sesquicentennial birthday.
π’ Another Local Business Closing

Many of you may remember Julie and Songbird Orchids from when we first featured her business and later shared the story of her move to the Ore Mill Rd location. Like so many local business owners, she's poured her heart into building something special for our community.
After years of serving Colorado Springs from a retail storefront, Songbird Orchids is transitioning to a home-based business as rising operating costs make maintaining a physical shop increasingly difficult. While in-store shopping will end in mid-Aug and repotting services conclude Aug 8, customers will still be able to order orchids and specialty houseplants online, by phone, or at local markets and pop-up events. Corporate orchid services, local delivery, and the Orchid Exchange Program will continue, and Julie plans to expand her online offerings while working toward building a greenhouse and permanent home for the business.
We've had the privilege of sharing Julieβs story and this tough decision is a reminder that supporting local businesses isn't just about buying products, it's about the passion that each owner pours into not only the business but also our community.
If you've ever thought about stopping in, now would be a wonderful time to show a little local love before the storefront closes at 2755 Ore Mill Rd, Unit 10, COS
π€¦ββοΈ The View Nobody Wanted

The music at Weidner Field may have been a hit, but not every seat got rave reviews. After recent Jelly Roll concert, some attendees said they arrived to find porta potties blocking their view of the stage.
Several fans said they didn't realize their seats had an obstructed view when purchasing tickets and were disappointed after paying premium prices. Weidner Field responded, saying affected seats were identified as obstructed on their website and that staff worked to relocate guests whenever possible.
If you're buying tickets for future concerts at Weidner Field, it may be worth taking an extra moment to double-check the seating map on multiple sites (sigh) and look for any potential view obstructions before you purchase. Full Story
