πŸ”₯ Firefighters Control Old Colorado City Blaze

Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) swiftly contained a blaze at a townhome in Old Colorado City, responding to reports of flames emerging from the building late last night. With a second alarm issued, multiple fire crews worked to extinguish the fire, which originated at 2711 W Pikes Peak Ave. Firefighters rescued a dog from the scene, and now, a CSFD investigator is tasked with determining the fire's cause and assessing potential displacement of residents.

🚧 Academy Blvd Impacted by Closures

Underground utility work along S Academy brings traffic impacts to the area. Beginning today, a full closure of Airport Road east of S Academy will last until May 9, with detours in place for eastbound and westbound traffic. Meanwhile, on S Academy between East Fountain and Jet Wing Dr., all directions of traffic are reduced to one lane as crews work on underground operations. No turn restrictions are in place during these operations.

Participants, including students and experts, broke boards to raise funds for the organization, which assists children of fallen military, firefighters, and law enforcement officers. The event raised over $35,000, adding to the center's total of more than half a million dollars donated to local nonprofits over the years.
