For KayLee Parson, owner of Painting With a Twist on North Powers, art has always been about connection. From her early days owning a mobile mosaic art studio in high school to teaching art in countries like Japan, Honduras, and Italy, KayLee has found joy in sharing her passion with others.

After moving to Colorado Springs in 2015 with her husband, KayLee continued to spread her love for art as a middle school art teacher and instructor at Painting With a Twist. When the opportunity arose to purchase the studio in 2023, KayLee knew it was her chance to create a space where creativity could truly flourish.

And flourish it does! Painting With a Twist offers a unique blend of art and entertainment. Think of it as a "pARTy" where friends gather to enjoy step-by-step painting instruction from talented local artists, all while enjoying drinks from the inspiration bar.

But the fun doesn't stop there! Painting With a Twist also hosts a variety of themed events, from Trivia Nights and Murder Mystery evenings to Sing and Paint gatherings and Blacklight painting experiences. Looking for a more individualized experience? Drop in during DIY hours and explore a range of projects, from home décor to figurines, complete with video instruction.

🚁 Increased Noise from Fort Carson

Starting today, July 10, Fort Carson's 4th Combat Aviation Brigade will hold aerial gunnery exercises until August 25. This training may result in increased noise and low-flying helicopters around the southern end of the base. Fort Carson aims to be considerate neighbors and will keep the community informed about such activities. For noise complaints, residents can contact the Fort Carson Public Affairs Office at (719) 526-9849.

🐾 HSPPR Takes in 290 Animals in July

Since the start of July, the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region has taken in 290 stray pets at their Colorado Springs and Pueblo shelters. With the Fourth of July being a common time for pets to go missing, HSPPR is urging owners to check their listings online and file a lost pet report if necessary. 🤠 ProRodeo Hall Welcomes J.D. Yates

Pueblo native J.D. Yates, a veteran rodeo competitor and horse trainer, has been inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame. With nearly 50 years in the sport, he continues to compete and train horses, contributing significantly to the rodeo and equestrian community. Full Story
