💖 She Took a Leap, Now It's Your Turn
🧘♀️ Meet Tonya, a woman who dared to chase her dreams and create a space for women just like you💫
Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, leading us to exactly where we need to be. That's what happened for Tonya Alonzo, owner of barre3 Colorado Springs. Like many women, Tonya juggled a demanding corporate job and family life. But beneath the surface, a longing for something more lingered. Seeking solace from the daily grind, she discovered barre3 in 2019. The workouts, emphasizing strength, cardio, and mindfulness, resonated deeply, but it was the community, the inclusivity, and message of body positivity that truly captivated her.
In a twist of fate, Tonya was presented with the opportunity to purchase the studio in 2021. Leaving behind her corporate career, she embarked on a new adventure, driven by her passion for barre3 and a desire to empower women. It was a leap of faith that brought her more than just a business; it brought a renewed sense of purpose and an unexpected gift…
A small, socially responsible finance company, drawn to Tonya's values and leadership, sought her out. Now, she balances both worlds, her life a testament to the beautiful unfolding that happens when we have the courage to open our hearts.
Tonya understands the pressures women face and provides a welcoming space where you can prioritize your well-being without judgment. Her commitment to inclusivity shines through, with classes accessible to all fitness levels. The final ten minutes of each session, dedicated to stretching and affirmations, leave participants feeling renewed and inspired.
🙋♀️ Ready to rediscover a sense of belonging and feel that unique strength that comes from an empowering community?
As a special thank you to COS TT readers, Tonya is offering an exclusive opportunity: mention this article and receive ONE FULL WEEK of classes absolutely FREE. "Come as you are," Tonya encourages. "We're here to support you, challenge you, and help you find your balance."

🚱 Amara Annexation Denied—Here’s Why
In a surprising 5-4 vote, the Colorado Springs City Council denied the annexation of the Amara development, a 3,000-acre project intended to introduce more than 9,000 homes to the area. Just three weeks earlier, the council had narrowly approved the proposal. The reversal came after Councilman Dave Donelson changed his vote, swaying the outcome. While developers emphasized the need for affordable housing, concerns over water supply and infrastructure demands were prominent, with critics questioning whether Colorado Springs Utilities could support the project without depleting regional water resources. The land's future remains unclear after this unexpected decision. Feel free to catch the replay of the very long City Council meeting from yesterday, Part 1 and Part 2.
📝 New Medication Labels for the Visually Impaired
Colorado has enacted a law that will require pharmacies to provide prescription labels in accessible formats like braille or audio devices to better serve visually impaired patients. Previously, many individuals with visual disabilities had to rely on others or apps to manage their medication, which posed risks for mistakes. The new law, supported by grants for smaller pharmacies, aims to prevent such errors and enhance independence for the visually impaired. Pharmacies will have 28 days to fulfill any format requests not readily available. This law, which takes effect in 2025, addresses a long-standing accessibility issue and seeks to improve medication safety.
🦒 A Tall Order: Panya’s 7th Birthday Bash
Courtesy: FOX21 News Photojournalist, Lilia Onstott
How do you celebrate a giraffe's birthday? At Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the answer is simple: with cake, a crowd, and plenty of giraffe-sized fun! Panya, the confident and petite giraffe, turned seven with the help of Children’s Hospital, who brought in young ambassadors to share the day with her. Guests enjoyed snapping photos in giraffe-themed props, crafting birthday cards, and singing “Happy Birthday” to the birthday girl—though her friend Kay had the most fun eating the cake! With each passing year, Panya’s birthday reminds us that even the smallest giraffes leave the tallest footprints. Check out this cute video of the bash.
