🛑 Scam Alert: CMZoo Cautions Against Fraudulent Tickets

It’s happening again! 😟 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is alerting the community to a scam targeting those looking for discounted admission tickets. Fake accounts are promoting deals that seem too good to be true, such as four tickets for $6.95. These fraudulent offers are intended to steal personal and financial information. 

CMZoo stresses that the only safe way to purchase tickets is through their official website, cmzoo.org. They also remind visitors that any discounts will be listed on the official site and should not be trusted if found elsewhere. Have you come across any suspicious posts? If so, report them to CMZoo immediately to help protect the community.

🎡 What You Need to Know Before Going to the State Fair

Thinking of going to the Colorado State Fair? Organizers want to assure you that they are prioritizing safety and security with enhanced measures, including increased searches, additional security cameras, and stronger collaboration with local law enforcement. Visitors can bring bags, but all will be checked at the gates. 

With temperatures expected to be high, security will also monitor for heat-related issues, offering free water and other hydration options.

Ride safety is being thoroughly tested, and a sensory-inclusive area is available for those who need it. Planning to visit early might help you beat the crowds—and the heat. Full Story

💔 Say Goodbye to the Wild Goose

The Wild Goose Meeting House, a downtown Colorado Springs fixture, will close on September 14, 2024, just before its 11th anniversary. 😢 Since opening in 2013, the Wild Goose has been a community hub, offering coffee, music, and a space for people to connect. Despite its significance, challenges like rising competition and inflation have led to the decision to close. The community is encouraged to share memories and celebrate the final weeks together as this chapter comes to an end.

🚴‍♂️ New 1.25-Mile Trail Segment at Legacy Loop

A new stretch of the Rock Island Trail within the Legacy Loop is now open, linking Van Buren to Templeton Gap and connecting the Pikes Peak Greenway to Shooks Run. This project, supported by TOPS and various grants, enhances the city's trail network.

As you explore this new route, please maintain low speeds and be aware of ongoing work. Additionally, remember that the speed limit on local trails is 20 MPH, whether you’re on a traditional bike or an e-bike. Observing these guidelines helps keep the trails safe for all users.
