🕊️ Honoring 9/11 in Southern Colorado

On the 23rd anniversary of September 11, events across Southern Colorado will remember the victims of the 2001 attacks. In Colorado Springs, a ceremony at Memorial Park, featuring retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Mike Gould, will take place at 10am.

Meanwhile, cadets at the Air Force Academy will honor the fallen with a memorial run lasting 19 hours. 

In Manitou Springs, firefighters and first responders will hike the Manitou Incline in full gear to pay tribute to the heroic efforts of their peers who risked their lives on that tragic day. Moments of silence will punctuate the hike, coinciding with key moments from the attacks. Full Story

With the November 2024 General Election approaching, El Paso County voters are encouraged to prepare now. The Clerk and Recorder’s Office advises residents to confirm your voter registration, especially if you've recently moved or changed your name.

Key election dates include the Oct 11 mailing of ballots, the Oct 28 deadline for mailing them back, and Election Day on Nov 5.

Voters should also take time to review the candidates and measures on the ballot, plan how you will vote, and spread awareness about election deadlines. Ensuring ballots are returned before the final deadline will be crucial, as late or postmarked ballots will not be counted. Full Story
