📡 CSPD’s New Crime Center: Get Involved

Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC)

Colorado Springs Police Department has launched its Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC), a new program that enhances public safety by providing officers with real-time access to essential data and video footage. Through the Fusus platform, the RTCC integrates security camera feeds, law enforcement databases, and live drone footage to offer comprehensive situational awareness during emergencies.

The program also includes the Together COS initiative, encouraging residents and businesses to voluntarily register or integrate their cameras, making it easier for law enforcement to access footage when investigating crimes. This increased access allows police to respond more efficiently, reduce response times, and improve both community and officer safety.

🗳️ How Accurate Are Our Voting Machines?

Voting Machines

In preparation for the Nov 5th general election, the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Office completed a Logic and Accuracy (L&A) test of all voting equipment. The test, which began on Oct 3rd, finished ahead of schedule yesterday. It verified that each voting machine records votes correctly and that the hardware functions properly.

Over 30,000 test ballots were cast across all units, and the bipartisan Testing Board conducted hand counts on a sample of ballots to cross-check results. After the successful test, the voting systems were locked, sealed, and secured for election day. Full Story

🎥 Film Screening to Bridge Divides

documentary Undivide Us

The documentary Undivide Us will be shown at Colorado College on Mon, Oct 21, as part of an event designed to counter the increasingly polarized political climate in the U.S. The film highlights how citizens, even with differing viewpoints, can still engage in meaningful, civil conversations.

Following the screening, Martín Carcasson from Colorado State University and Amber Coté from Rocky Mountain PBS will lead small-group discussions using the “Living Room Conversations” model, encouraging attendees to communicate across divides. The event, which seeks to equip participants with tools for navigating polarized conversations, is free, but seating is limited to 100 people. Pre-registration is recommended.
