🚧 Dublin Lane Closures This Week
Get ready for temporary traffic changes on Dublin at Marksheffel as crews prepare for the next phase of the Marksheffel Road Improvements project. This week, single-lane closures will be in place for median removal, paving the way for future traffic realignments.
Turning movements will remain accessible, but travel delays are expected during peak hours. Alternate routes are advised to minimize disruptions. This work marks the transition into Phase 2 of the project, which will involve major construction between Barnes and Dublin beginning in early 2025 and lasting through late 2026.
🦌 Winter Wildlife Safety Tips
With deer rutting season in full swing, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is asking residents to stay cautious around wildlife. Bucks can become aggressive during mating season, and several incidents of deer attacking dogs have been reported along the front range.
To stay safe, pet owners should always keep dogs leashed, even in backyards, and scare off wildlife by turning on lights or making loud noises before letting pets outside. Feeding deer is not only illegal but can harm their health and attract predators like mountain lions or bears to neighborhoods.
Residents are encouraged to pick up fallen fruit, secure bird feeders, and ensure dogs don’t roam freely or chase wildlife. CPW also reminds everyone to give deer at least 100 feet of space and to teach children to avoid approaching any wild animals. For wildlife concerns or questions, CPW recommends contacting their office.
🎁 Little Act of Kindness, Big Smiles
This holiday season, 5-year-old Beckett, a Children’s Hospital Colorado patient ambassador, experienced a heartwarming surprise. Sturgeon Electric Company decorated his family’s Colorado Springs home with a glowing holiday light display. The thoughtful gesture brought extra joy to Beckett and his family, who have endured many challenges since his premature birth at just two pounds.
Despite frequent hospital visits and health struggles, Beckett’s unshakable optimism has been an inspiration. For his family, the light display is more than holiday cheer—it’s a shining reminder of the kindness and support that brighten even the toughest days. Full Story
