🛡️ Soldiers Return Just in Time for Holidays
More than 300 Fort Carson soldiers returned home this past Friday, marking the end of a nine-month deployment in Europe. These soldiers, part of the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, worked alongside NATO allies on training missions and helped foster peace in the region.
Their return to Colorado Springs is a heartwarming moment, especially as the holidays approach. It’s a time for families to reconnect and for our community to celebrate their safe return. We’re reminded of the sacrifices these men and women make and the strength of the families who support them. *Source

The holiday travel season is continuing, and over 100,000 passengers are expected to pass through Colorado Springs Airport’s security checkpoints. To help manage the rush, the TSA has implemented new facial recognition technology, speeding up ID checks to under two seconds.
This innovative system matches a real-time photo of travelers to their IDs, reducing human error and streamlining the process. TSA emphasizes that the photos are not stored or used beyond immediate verification. Travelers can still opt out if they prefer a manual ID check.
With these upgrades, the TSA hopes to make your holiday journey smoother and less stressful. The technology has already received positive feedback, giving travelers one less thing to worry about this season. Full Story
🚪 Fighting Eviction: A Year of Progress
The Fourth Judicial District is celebrating the first anniversary of Division CARE, an eviction recovery program aimed at tackling housing insecurity in El Paso and Teller counties. Since its launch last year, the program has worked to stabilize the lives of those facing eviction by connecting them to critical resources such as mediation, legal support, and housing assistance.
Handling around 750 eviction cases monthly, Division CARE assists in about 100 cases, helping over 13% of tenants in need avoid eviction. For many, this program has been a lifeline, providing not only practical solutions but also a renewed sense of hope and dignity.
As Colorado’s housing crisis continues, Division CARE serves as a powerful model for addressing housing instability through community partnerships and innovative approaches. Its success may pave the way for similar initiatives in other districts. Full Story
