📜 New Year, New Colorado Laws Now in Effect
The new year brings several changes to Colorado law aimed at improving safety and fairness. Drivers must go hands-free as holding a phone behind the wheel becomes a secondary offense starting in 2025. Gun owners must secure firearms left in vehicles in locked, hidden containers to curb thefts.
Families should prepare for updated car seat rules, extending age and weight limits for children. Egg shoppers might notice higher prices as cage-free requirements kick in, ensuring more humane conditions for hens.
Delivery drivers now benefit from greater pay transparency, with apps required to disclose earnings and tips. The state minimum wage also increased slightly, with tipped workers seeing a boost too.
These adjustments and more, apparently reflect Colorado’s continued focus on safety, transparency, and equity for its residents. Full Story

✈️ REAL ID Deadline Looms
Travelers, take note! Starting May 7, 2025, REAL ID-compliant identification will be mandatory for domestic flights and access to specific federal facilities. These IDs, marked with a star at the top, signify adherence to federal security standards.
Don’t have a REAL ID? A valid passport or an enhanced driver’s license from certain states will also work. The good news is that minors flying with adults don’t need one, and REAL IDs remain optional for activities like voting, driving, or accessing federal benefits.
To get a REAL ID, you’ll need documents like your birth certificate, Social Security number, and proof of residency. Your drivers license may already be compliant. If you don’t see the start on your license then check with your local DMV for specific requirements and avoid the last-minute rush.
Be proactive now to ensure smooth travels when the deadline arrives! Full Story

🚨 Stetson Hills Becomes FBI Focus
Yesterday, the Stetson Hills neighborhood in saw a heavy law enforcement presence involving the ATF and FBI. The operation was linked to a shocking national incident earlier that morning, when a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. Matthew Livelsberger, a 37-year-old former Army veteran from Colorado Springs, was named as the suspect and reportedly lost his life in the explosion.
The rented Tesla was filled with firework mortars and fuel canisters, leading authorities to investigate the event as a possible act of terror. Seven people sustained minor injuries. Locally, federal agents executed search operations at a residence tied to Livelsberger, bringing this national tragedy directly into our community.
While details remain scarce, this incident has placed Colorado Springs in the national spotlight, leaving residents reflecting on the unexpected connections between their city and larger events. Full Story
