🥶 Emergency Shelter Needs Donations Now
With freezing temperatures settling in, Hope COS is working tirelessly to keep its shelter open for an extended period to protect those experiencing homelessness. The organization needs community support, requesting donations of cold-weather gear, food—including meat and breakfast items—and essential supplies like paper products. Donations can be dropped off at The Sanctuary Church in Old Colorado City. Every contribution helps ensure no one faces the harsh winter without shelter.
🚧 More Academy Traffic Impacts
Colorado Springs Utilities will replace a 1960s-era water vault under Academy Blvd near Meadowland Blvd starting today, Jan 6. The project, lasting through July, is designed to improve water reliability and leak detection.
From today through 19, left-hand lanes in both directions between Flintridge Dr and Meadowland will close. Beginning Jan 20, traffic will reduce to one southbound lane and two northbound lanes with altered turns, shifting to the northbound side. Although water service won’t be affected, drivers should plan for delays, drive cautiously, and consider alternate routes.

While Peak Vista plans to appeal parts of the election results, the organization remains committed to its mission of serving patients in Southern Colorado. Full Story

🎂 Embracing Aging: Finding the Upside

In a world obsessed with anti-aging, this video flips the script, highlighting 10 wonderful aspects of growing older as a woman. While it’s not me in the video, it resonates deeply (especially #’s 8-10) and how aging can be an empowering journey. Hope you find value in this. 🤗
