π‘ New Home Construction on the Rise

Courtesy: Pikes Peak Regional Building Dept
The Pikes Peak region kicked off 2025 with a boost in home construction, as January saw a 17% increase in new home permits compared to last year. Of the 217 permits issued, the majority were for developments in Colorado Springs, with others spread across El Paso County and Monument. This rise in construction could bring more housing options to the market, offering some relief for buyers navigating a competitive landscape. *Source

π° Should You Refinance in 2025?

Mortgage rates were expected to dip to around 6% by the end of 2024, but theyβve remained high, hovering in the upper 6% range. Even with the Federal Reserve cutting rates, mortgage rates havenβt budged much, and experts predict any future declines will be gradual.
Those considering a home purchase or refinance should base their decision on their personal financial situation rather than waiting for the βperfectβ rate, as significant drops may not come until mid-2025. The next Fed meeting could signal the direction rates are headed, but for now, uncertainty remains. *Read Source
