β€οΈ Transform Hardship Into Hope for Local Moms
π€ Discover how A Momβs Guide to Survive is lifting mothers in need
βI couldn't even imagine..." That's how many of us might feel, facing the challenges of single motherhood alone β the financial pressures, the emotional weight, the constant struggle to provide. Katie Liberatore lived this reality. Fueled by her own experiences and expertise in child development and trauma recovery, she created A Mom's Guide to Survive (AMGTS) right here in Colorado Springs. It's more than an organization; it's a promise that no mom should have to navigate these hardships alone.
Founded in 2023, AMGTS began as an online community, a place for single mothers to connect. But Katie recognized the urgent need for tangible support. It quickly evolved, offering free community events, redistributing essential items, and building a network of hope and resilience.
A Mom's Guide to Survivesβ community-building series stands out, fostering self-sufficiency and connection. Picture moms learning to cultivate their own salsa garden (in partnership with Vermijo Roots), or families bonding during a park cleanup. The "One Mom's Junk" program embodies her resourcefulness, giving gently used items a second life and directly supporting families.
AMGTS is a movement built on empathy and lived experience. Katie understands the isolation. This empathy shapes her unique approach β creating a supportive village where moms can truly thrive. Sheβs rapidly expanding, recently filing for 501(c)(3) status, and is always looking for helping hands.
Upcoming events include the Salsa Garden Workshop (April 9 & 12), a Park Cleanup initiative starting in April, a Wardrobe Refresh Exchange for moms (June 8), Holiday Wishes for Teens (Dec14) and Kid Closet Swap (March).
