🚧 Dublin Blvd Shuts Down Tonight

Construction on Dublin officially begins in full tonight, June 16, with a complete road closure between Fieler Dr and Mustang Rim Dr lasting through late September. Originally delayed by an underground spring, the closure aims to shorten the project timeline.
Key intersections and streets—including Peterson Rd and Mustang Rim Dr—will also be affected, and PTAA school access will shift to the south entrance. Detours will be clearly marked, but drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes. Text alerts and the city website offer the latest updates.

✊ 9,000 Protesters, But No Chaos

This past Saturday, nearly 9,000 people gathered in Colorado Springs to take part in the national “No Kings Day” protest, which called for a day of peaceful defiance and civil engagement. Coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and President Trump's birthday, the protests reflected a growing frustration with national policies, with participants voicing concerns about rights, immigration, and due process.
Despite strong emotions, our local demonstration remained peaceful, with no arrests or counter-protests. Similar events in nearby communities—like Pueblo, Manitou, and Cañon City—also drew hundreds, reflecting a wider movement across the state. Full Story

🧒 YMCA Returns, But Not How You Think

In response to the growing childcare shortage across El Paso County, Revolution Church is converting the former Garden Ranch YMCA into a licensed, affordable childcare and after-school center.
Approved by City Council, the center will serve up to 150 kids at a time, offering programming that includes tutoring, sports, ESL classes, and dinner. With costs as low as $30–$60 per week, the program is especially aimed at supporting single-parent households and families in School District 11 who often face financial and access barriers. The center will open with summer programs and transition to after-school care this fall. Full Story
