🏔️ Just 5 Days to Magic Mornings on the Mountain

Ever dream of watching the sunrise from 14,115 feet? This summer and fall, you’ve got just 5 chances to make that dream a reality during special Sunrise Openings on Pikes Peak—July 12, 18, Aug 1, Sept 27, and Oct 13. Whether you drive up yourself or take the new shuttle service, you’ll experience a peaceful, unforgettable morning above the clouds. Sip coffee, enjoy a brisket burrito or famous summit donut, and take in the view before the rest of the world even wakes up. Space is limited, so don’t wait to book your spot!

☢️ This Toxic Problem Hits Close to Home

Courtesy of Mike Sweeney
Scientists and engineers from the Colorado School of Mines are teaming up with experts at Peterson Space Force Base to take on one of the state’s most persistent environmental threats: PFAS, or “forever chemicals.” These toxic compounds, left behind from decades of firefighting foam use, don’t break down naturally and can pose serious health risks.
But this summer, groundbreaking demonstrations at the base are testing innovative methods—using heat, UV light, and chemical treatments—to break these bonds for good. It’s a major step in the right direction, with real hope that Colorado’s communities can one day be PFAS-free. Full Story
🌼 Ivywild Garden Toure Blooms Again Ths Sat!

The Ivywild Garden Art Toure is back this Saturday, July 12, from 9am to 2:30pm, offering a self-guided exploration of colorful private gardens filled with flowers, vegetables, bees, and one-of-a-kind art. Starting at the Millibo Art Theatre, a $12 donation gets you a map and wristband to visit a variety of gardens, enjoy live music and dance, interact with artists, and shop local artisan goods.
With about three miles of shady walking or biking through this historic neighborhood, the event supports beautification efforts and includes family-friendly activities—but leave pets and strollers at home due to tight spaces.
