🦽 Accessing Nature Has Never Been Easier

The Trackchair Program in Colorado Springs is set to expand, bringing more accessible outdoor adventures to those with mobility challenges. By October, the program will include Ute Valley Park and Bluestem Prairie Open Space, offering over 220 sessions this year across four locations.
The Trackchairs are designed to navigate rougher trails with special wheels, and the program is supported by the TOPS, Therapeutic Recreation programs, and funding from the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Outdoor Equality Grant. This initiative ensures that everyone, no matter their ability, can enjoy the beauty of our city’s open spaces.
🌌 Perseids Light Up COS Skies

The Perseid meteor shower is putting on its annual show, and tonight through Saturday nights will be the best time to catch it in Colorado. As the moon rises later each evening, skies will darken and make those fleeting streaks of light easier to see.
Head east or into the mountains to escape city lights — Mueller State Park, Florissant Fossil Beds, and the Paint Mines are top picks. Friday night even brings a special dark sky party at Mueller (8:30-10:30pm), hosted by the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society. Pack a blanket, give your eyes time to adjust, and get ready for a little cosmic magic. Full Story

⚠️ Speed & Danger in NE Colorado Springs

In just 3 days, 2 motorcyclists have died at the same northeast Colorado Springs intersection — North Union and Garmish Rd — with speed suspected in both crashes. These tragedies bring the city’s 2025 traffic death toll to 36, half of them motorcyclists.
Neighbors say the spot has long been hazardous, and city officials are now reviewing the stretch between Dublin and Vickers to identify safety improvements. Police are urging drivers and riders to slow down, stay patient, and give themselves extra time before turning to avoid more lives being lost. Full Story
