Ever feel buried under paperwork you keep putting off? I did too. I had 90 business spotlight applicant PDFs sitting in a folderโnone of them were in my CRM or spreadsheet. Ugh! ๐ฉโฆ click to read how I solved this at the FREE AI For Everyone Community
*Later this week Iโll share WHY I DID NOT do it another way that may have saved me even MORE time!
If youโve got a pile of โsomedayโ tasks sitting aroundโฆ this might be your answer.

๐ง Road Work Ahead โ Resurfacing in Progress!

CDOT is resurfacing a short but busy stretch of Hwy 24 this week, just east of East Platte. The work runs through Thurs, 9am to 3pm, between mile points 311 and 312. Drivers should anticipate shoulder closures, one-lane traffic, and delays of up to 15 minutes. If youโre headed eastbound near Galley or Peterson, give yourself a little extra time or consider alternate routes. Full Story

โก New Energy Rates Oct 1 + Rate Calculator

Colorado Springs Utilities is introducing time-based electric rates beginning Oct 1, where the price of electricity will vary depending on the time of day. Power used between 5โ9pm on weekdays (on-peak) will cost more, while mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays (off-peak) will be less expensive. The On and Off-peak is already in effect but itโs in the Summer rates until Oct 1 where it switches to Winter rates.
Seasonal adjustments will apply too, with higher rates in the summer and lower rates during winter months. About half of households may save money by shifting energy usage outside of peak times. CSU offers an interactive tool to help estimate costs and compare rate options. (Scroll halfway down for the calculator tool.)
๐๏ธ Free Eye Exams This Saturday

This Saturday, Sept 20, from 9am to 1pm, the Colorado Eye Institute (South office) will host its annual free eye screening event for anyone in need of care, especially those who may not be able to afford it. No appointment necessaryโjust walk in at 1 Education Way, COS 80906.
The screening includes retina scans and photos of the back of the eye to check for underlying issues. In some cases, free prescription glasses may be provided, and those needing further care will be given next steps by a doctor. Itโs a generous community effort to make eye health accessible to all. ๐ TRIVIA: ๐โโ๏ธ Who Did This Marathon Founder Challenge?

Monte Wolford, a 28-year-old vegetarian bodybuilder and Mr. America competitor, who conquered the course in 5:39:58
The Pikes Peak Marathon (Sept 20 & 21 this year) began in 1956 as a daring fitness experiment, sparked by Dr. Arne Suominenโa Finnish runner who traveled from Florida to challenge a particular group on the slopes of Pikes Peak, aiming to prove a point about health and stamina. After the dramatic first race, the marathon became a local legend, but its route and finish kept evolving.
In 1956, which group did Dr. Arne Suominen challenge in the first Pikes Peak Marathon to prove a point about health?
Runners first started at Barr Trailโs base and ended at the Cog Railway. In 1960, critics pointed out the event didnโt cover a true marathon distance, so the finish line shifted to Manitou and Ruxton Avenues. The final major change came in 1976, anchoring the starting line at Manitou City Hallโa familiar landmark for residentsโwhere it remains today.

The event also led the way for female athletes: Arlene Pieper-Stein became the first woman to officially finish a marathon in 1959 in the Pikes Peak Marathon.
Answer: Smokersโhe set out to show that smokers couldnโt match the endurance of non-smokers, and neither of the 2 smokers finished the inaugural race. *Source
