π» Bear Cub Sneaks Into Hospital

This past Friday, a young bear cub found itself far from the forestβinside the underground parking garage at St. Francis Hospital off Woodmen and Powers. Colorado Parks and Wildlife responded quickly, temporarily sedating the cub and tagging its ear before transporting it to a rehab facility in Frisco. Fortunately, the cub is now safe and getting the care it needs before eventually being released back into the wild. Full Story

Community, helping communityβ¦on Sept 19, local Target employees joined Pikes Peak Habitat for Humanity at the Ridge at Sand Creek construction site to support affordable housing in Colorado Springs. With 24 homes already built in the 30-home development, volunteers played a hands-on role in helping more familiesβlike teachers and bus driversβachieve homeownership. Since the majority of Habitat homes are built by volunteers, their efforts make a lasting impact right here in our community. Full Story
π Another Bulk Shopping Option Coming

Gordon Restaurant Market, part of Gordon Food Service, is preparing to open a new store in southeast Colorado Springs in November 2025. Located near S Circle and Monterey Rd, the store will offer wholesale-style grocery options, primarily aimed at restaurants and bulk shoppers. While early signs are up, interior work is still in progress. The store may not be ideal for those seeking organic or health-specific items (Costco is better for this) but could provide another option for families and local businesses needing bulk deals and catering supplies.
