Meet the Passionate Colorado Springs Couple Behind Season Two Taste

🥘 A Pinch of Hometown, A Dash of Expertise

Season Two Taste is stirring up the culinary scene with its rich blend of homegrown advice and scrumptious recipes.

Colorado Springs locals Jason and Christine Miller are the talented chefs behind Seasonstwotaste.com, a food blog overflowing with delicious recipes, cooking tips, and stories from a combined half-century of culinary gifts. They have whipped up this food blog that's quickly become the talk of the town. In less than a year, they've seasoned the internet with a flavor that attracts over 11,000 monthly visitors.

From Adversity to Inspiration 😊

Life's unexpected turns led them from the bustling kitchens of fine dining to the digital world, following Jason's recovery from a serious car accident. Their food blog isn't just a site for recipes; it's a showcase of their love for each other, love for their cooking, and a shared plate of their resilience. They've kneaded their experiences into every post, offering the world their expansive culinary knowledge with their informative teaching style.

Tasty Recipes for Every Season 🍲

On their blog, Jason and Christine share approachable recipes focused on fresh, seasonal ingredients. You'll find

  • Garden-inspired dishes like Bacon and Kale Potato Hash, minestrone soup, and roasted cherry tomatoes.

  • Mouthwatering sweet treats like giant cinnamon rolls, matcha cream puffs, and caramel apple empanadas.

  • For meat lovers, they share grilling recipes ranging from flank steak with chimichurri to Santa Maria/Colorado Springs tri-tip barbecue.

Teaching Mindful Cooking and Eating 🧘‍♂️🍽️

True to their backgrounds as amazing chefs and instructors, they both emphasize teaching mindful cooking and eating habits. Their posts demystify cooking processes so home cooks feel confident in the kitchen.

In addition to their informative blog content, Jason and Christine both also teach hands-on cooking classes at The French Kitchen on N. Academy. If you’re looking for an in-person culinary experience, find one of Jason's classes (click on “Chef Jason” or “Christine” to see their classes) to learn tips and techniques while cooking alongside veteran chefs.

Whisking Up Culinary Connections 🤝

Anticipation is simmering for the Millers' newsletter, set to dish out new recipes and heartfelt stories from their Colorado Springs kitchen. To indulge in their culinary creations, bookmark SeasonsTwoTaste.com, and for a sprinkle of community spirit, join them on Facebook.

Let's celebrate and support our local culinary artisans! 🎉👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

🚧 Detours Ahead – Plan Now

Woodmen Bridge over Academy

If you’ve noticed nighttime work happening on the Woodmen Bridge over Academy, here’s why: crews are upgrading the surface with a long-lasting polymer overlay to replace the worn asphalt. Most of the work is happening after hours to reduce daytime disruption, but lane closures are expected nightly through the end of November. When it’s done, the drive through that busy interchange will be much smoother.

Lake Ave and Spring Grove Way

On the southwest side of the city, Springmeadow Dr is temporarily closed between Lake Ave and Spring Grove Way while crews perform needed bridge repairs. The road will stay closed to through traffic for the duration of the project, so be sure to follow posted detours and plan for extra time.

😲 COS Cost of Living Shock

COS Cost of Living Shock

Feeling like your paycheck doesn’t stretch as far as it used to? You’re not imagining things. Colorado Springs has officially joined the ranks of big cities where six figures are considered the baseline for living comfortably.

A recent report using cost-of-living data and budgeting metrics ranked our city as the 20th most expensive city in the U.S. — and you’d now need to earn just over $100,000 annually to afford necessities, save, and enjoy some discretionary spending. Denver came in even higher on the list (as expected) at #12. While it’s not news that prices are up, this puts into perspective just how much it takes to feel financially secure in our city these days. Full Story

🍎 Teachers Strike Today

D-11 Teachers Strike Today

Apparently for the first time in nearly 50 years, Colorado Springs School District 11 teachers are walking out for a one-day strike today, Oct 8. The decision comes after years of escalating tensions between the teachers’ union and the school board — tensions that intensified last year when the long-standing collective bargaining agreement was allowed to expire.

Union members say they’re standing up for student learning, teacher rights, and a stronger voice in district decisions. The district, meanwhile, insists schools will remain open and safe, with substitute teachers, office staff, and even some board members stepping in to keep things running. A rally is planned at Acacia Park this afternoon. Full Story
