🚧 Plan Ahead for Detours Today

If you usually travel along N Nevada, especially southbound near Dublin, expect some minor detours. Colorado Springs Utilities is repairing a damaged wastewater line, prompting a temporary closure that began yesterday afternoon and is expected to last until mid-morning today. The closure starts at Dublin and continues south where the road becomes N Nevada. Crews and safety personnel are in place, so traffic may slow in the area. If this is your commute, it’s a good idea to leave early or choose an alternate route. Full Story

🍝 Pasta Prices Could Double Soon

A proposed federal tariff could send the price of imported Italian pasta soaring, with some products doubling in cost due to a 107% combined import duty. Specialty store owners in Colorado Springs, like those at Euro Deli and Market, are concerned that customers may no longer be able—or willing—to pay for beloved brands like Barilla, Rummo, and Garofalo. Some producers may even halt exports to the US entirely.

While grocery prices haven't shifted yet, the change could take effect by January, making imported pasta a pricey indulgence and posing real challenges for local stores that pride themselves on authentic offerings. Full Story

🌞 Balcony Solar? It’s a Thing! Today @11am

Today, Nov 17 at 11am, CoPIRG and Colorado Solar Innovations are hosting a free tour and live demonstration at their facility on the Westside, on Elkton Dr. You’ll get a close-up look at solar power trailers that can charge EVs on the go, plus a new plug-in solar unit—ideal for balconies or homes without rooftop access. The event aims to show that solar isn’t just for homeowners with big roofs—now more people and businesses can tap into clean energy in more creative, portable ways. The public is welcome, and the demo includes a stop at a nearby construction site to see the solar tech in action.
