🎄 A Greener Goodbye to Your Christmas Tree

Now that your Christmas tree has served its purpose, TreeCycle makes it easy to recycle it responsibly across El Paso County. Starting now through January, residents can drop off real trees at Rocky Top Resources or at six convenient county locations during early January weekends.

Trees are chipped into mulch for community use, keeping waste out of landfills while supporting local youth development programs through a suggested $5 donation. Just be sure trees are free of decorations, stands, and lights before dropping them off and feel good knowing your holiday tradition is ending on a sustainable note.

⛽ Some of the Lowest Gas in the US

Colorado Springs is seeing a welcome trend that many drivers can feel immediately…gas prices are some of the lowest in the nation right now. Many locals are filling up for under $3 a gallon, with prices dropping under $2/gallon at certain stations around town, according to KRDO the Murphy on E Woodmen and Rangewood (*Subject to change without notice.)

Compared to the national average, local gas prices are significantly cheaper, freeing up extra dollars for groceries, dining out, or everyday essentials. For many families, that savings adds up quickly and offers a small but meaningful boost during an otherwise expensive time of year. Full Story

With Affordable Care Act subsidies set to expire in a few days, uncertainty is growing for families who rely on them to keep health insurance affordable. Colorado lawmakers are split: some argue the subsidies are essential for keeping coverage within reach, while others believe the system needs deeper reform rather than temporary financial support.
