Karen came into my restaurant the other day and asked, "Can you tell me about the menu please?"

👉So I kicked her out and told her that the men I please are none of her business!! 🤣

🏡 Neighbors Team Up for Safety

A major wildfire mitigation project is wrapping up on the hillside above the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center, aimed at reducing fire risk in an area where flames can spread rapidly uphill. Following a fast-moving fire last year that threatened nearby neighborhoods, including those near Kissing Camels, city departments, the Colorado Springs Fire Department and local partners like Garden of the Gods Resort and Club worked together to remove dense vegetation and create defensible space.

These efforts are designed to slow potential wildfires, protect surrounding properties and give emergency crews more time to respond, highlighting the importance of community-wide collaboration as wildfire risk continues to rise. Full Story

💡 Wait… Now Rates Are Dropping?!

If your head is spinning trying to keep up with utility rate changes, you’re not alone. After recent discussions about potential increases, Colorado Springs Utilities is now proposing a decrease in electric and natural gas fuel rates that could lower the average residential bill by about $9.72 per month.

The proposal, driven by lower projected natural gas prices, will be voted on by City Council on March 24 and could take effect April 1. Because fuel rates adjust quarterly based on market conditions, they can move up or down throughout the year but the quick shift from talk of increases to a proposed decrease has left some residents feeling uncertain about what to expect next. While the potential savings are welcome, it’s understandable if trust feels a little shaky as these changes continue to evolve.

🥘 Roasted Veggie Enchilada Casserole

Recipe by Cookie + kate

This casserole recipe is one of my favorite recipes! Make it with a homemade enchilada sauce if possible (without all the additives of the packaged stuff) It’s a hearty, vegetable-packed dinner loaded with fresh Mexican flavors!
