❤️ Honoring Jay Cimino Today

Today, Colorado Springs is pausing to remember someone whose impact reached far beyond business.
March 26 is recognized as Gerald “Jay” Cimino Day, honoring the late Phil Long Dealerships leader for the many ways he helped shape and support the community. From veterans services and wellness programs to parks, local nonprofits and community spaces, his legacy continues to show up in meaningful ways across the region.
To carry that spirit forward, Phil Long Dealerships is once again launching its “Thanks, Jay” giveback campaign. Throughout April, every new or pre-owned vehicle sold will trigger a donation to one of several local causes chosen by the customer.
It’s a thoughtful way to turn remembrance into action and a reminder that the people who invest in a community can leave a ripple effect long after they’re gone. Full Story
🏡 More Affordable Homes? New Laws Signed

Governor Polis has signed two new housing bills into law (HB26-1001 and SB26-001) in an effort to help address Colorado’s ongoing affordability challenges. The new laws are designed to make it easier to build affordable and workforce housing by opening up underused land for development and giving local governments more flexibility and tools to support housing projects. That could mean new opportunities for schools, nonprofits, housing authorities and other organizations to help create homes for teachers, nurses, first responders and working families who are struggling to keep up with rising housing costs.
While it’s not an instant fix, the legislation is being framed as a meaningful step toward expanding housing options in communities across the state, including here in Colorado Springs. What are you thoughts on this?
