π³ Tonightβs Meeting Could Get Heated

A California company wants to turn an old Intel factory into an AI data center, but neighbors who remember a noisy crypto mine in the same building are pushing back.
Concerns about power use, water consumption, and noise have led to protests, even as the developer promises the project will stay within city limits.
π’ 2nd community meeting happening TONIGHT, Thurs May 14, 5:30β7:30pm at the Marriott, 5580 Tech Center Dr. This is to address residents' concerns about βProject Taurusβ. Full Story
π¦ COS Says Enough

Mayor Yemi launched "Safe Streets COS" yesterday at Mann Middle School. The citywide initiative targets dangerous driving with engineering, enforcement, education, and community partnerships. Already this school year, the city has installed 22 additional school zones with improved signage, safer crossings, and better visibility. The goal is to cut serious injury and fatal crashes by 35% by 2035.
Big changes ahead: red light cameras expanding to 20 high-risk intersections, stronger speed enforcement, and a push for every driver in COS to take shared responsibility. Since 2023, traffic enforcement is up 50%. Around school zones alone, it's up 200%.

πΊ Hummingbird Festival Returns

One of Colorado Springsβ sweetest signs of spring is returning this weekend.
The annual Hummingbird Festival is back at Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center this Sat, bringing a day full of nature walks, live raptors, crafts, face painting, and hands-on activities for families of all ages. The longtime community tradition celebrates the return of hummingbirds to North Cheyenne CaΓ±on Park and gives visitors a chance to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and learn more about the tiny pollinators that brighten our mountain canyons each year.
Guests can also plant pollinator-friendly flowers to take home, join guided bird walks, and hear educational talks about hummingbirds throughout the dayβ¦all surrounded by the beauty of Cheyenne CaΓ±on.

π 30-Minute Chicken Peanut Noodles

Recipe by Ambitious Kitchen
Savory, spicy ginger chicken peanut noodles with stir-fried veggies, lean ground chicken, and a creamy, flavorful peanut sauce. Just 30 minutes to make and pack over 30g of protein for an easy weeknight dinner!
Editorβs Note: I made this on Sunday. I substituted the chicken for vegetarian option, added a few more veggies and doubled the sauceβ¦it was delicious!
