🤫 The Secret Struggle Of Colorado's Strongest Women

⚓ The Helper’s Lifeline: Finding Strength at P31 Home
Picture the woman in your life who is always the strong one. The dedicated volunteer, the local business owner, the friend who drops everything to lend a hand. Every day, she pours her heart into serving others, often hiding her own private struggles behind a brave, practiced smile.
But what happens when a sudden crisis hits her own life? Whether it is an unsafe relationship, a sudden trauma, or an overwhelming emotional hurdle, the weight can quickly become too heavy to carry. Yet, reaching out feels impossible. Where do the helpers go when they need help, especially when fearing judgment or professional fallout?
Enter Vanessa Adkinson and P31 Home. Vanessa understands high-stakes crises firsthand. A former Marine who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom, a retired law enforcement officer, and a domestic violence expert with a background in psychology, she brings unmatched, trauma-informed expertise. Guided by her belief that "what you do for a living is one thing, but how you help and serve others is everything," she created P31 Home as a confidential consulting group specifically for community leaders.

Imagine walking into Vanessa's office when your world feels like it is falling apart. The relief is immediate. It isn't a cold, clinical intake; it’s a deep, much-needed breath. With profound compassion, Vanessa helps you untangle the chaos. Together, you identify the reality of the situation, build a clear timeline, and explore options you never knew existed. You walk out with a concrete safety plan and a trusted network of local support.
You quickly realize the truth in Vanessa’s core philosophy: "It takes a community to get through life; you can’t do it on your own." Through local events and nonprofit partnerships, P31 Home ensures no one fights their battles solo. True strength isn't carrying the world alone, it's allowing others to hold you up when you need it most.

If you or someone you love is carrying a heavy load and needs a trusted guide, do not walk the path alone. Reach out to Vanessa today to schedule a confidential consultation, or discover how you can get involved with their upcoming community events.

🚧 OCC Is Getting a Facelift, Have Your Say Now

The city of Colorado Springs is about to make some changes to Colorado Ave in Old Colorado City, and they want your feedback before things get moving.
Starting in early June, crews will restripe Colorado Avenue between 8th and 31st St, converting it from four lanes to three. The move adds about 30 new parking spaces in OCC and sets the stage for new pedestrian crossings to make the corridor safer and more walkable.
This is a 12-month test phase, funded by the voter-approved Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority. During the test, the city will monitor traffic speeds, traffic flow, and how people actually experience the space.
The City Capital Improvement Manager said if something isn’t working in this testing phase, they have the opportunity to modify. He believes that it’s really important that the public engage with them.

🗣️ Northwest Side: Town Hall Tomorrow Night

If you live in northwest Colorado Springs, your councilman wants to hear from you. District 1 Councilman Dave Donelson is hosting a community Town Hall tomorrow, Thursday, May 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Colorado Springs Fire Station 14, 1875 Dublin Blvd (near North Academy and Dublin).
On the agenda: roads and potholes. Corey Farkas from the city's Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division will be on hand to answer questions alongside Councilman Donelson.
This is a free, public event. If you have been frustrated with road conditions in your neighborhood, this is your chance to say so directly to the people who can do something about it.
