π The Secret Behind Better Balance
This weekβs TogetherWON wellness tip focuses on βbrain balanceβ, training your mind and body to work together. Kristen Nielsen demonstrates a multitasking exercise that combines movement, coordination, reaction time, and word games to help improve real-life balance skills as we age. Give it a try today!

Check your mailbox, Coloradoβs primary election ballots start arriving today.
Voters across the state will begin receiving ballots for the June 30 primary election, which will help decide which candidates move forward to Novemberβs general election for races including governor, US Senate, attorney general, and other state offices.
Coloradoβs election system allows all registered voters to participate, including unaffiliated voters. Those registered as unaffiliated will receive both Democratic and Republican primary ballots but can only vote and return ONE of them.
To receive a ballot by mail, voters must be registered by June 22. After that date, residents can still register and vote in person through Election Day.
Ballots mailed back should be sent in by June 22 to ensure they arrive on time. After that, completed ballots should be dropped off at an official drop box or voting center before 7pm on Election Night. Full Story
πΊπΈ Time for a New Flag?

Prepare your old American flag for retirement or pick up a replacement this Sat, June 13, during the annual Great American Flag Swap hosted by FOX21 News and Affordable Flags and Fireworks. Multiple sponsor locations across Colorado Springs will help community members properly exchange worn or faded flags ahead of Flag Day and the Fourth of July.
π΅ Bringing Our Senior Community Together

I'm thrilled to share an event that perfectly embodies what our community is all about: neighbors supporting neighbors and creating meaningful connections. On Sat, June 27th, the Senior Resource Council is hosting "Engage: Learning More and Living Well" at the Colorado Springs Senior Center (1514 N Hancock Ave) from 9:00am-2:00pm, and it's exactly the kind of gathering our senior community deserves (55+).
What makes this event special isn't just the impressive lineup of resources and educational opportunities, though there are plenty of those. It's the thoughtful way organizers have designed a day that brings together everything seniors might need to know about healthy, active aging in one welcoming space. Instead of traveling to different events throughout the year, attendees can explore topics from AI and disinformation to crime prevention, stress management, and planning to live well at home.
The interactive approach makes this different than typical information sessions. Rather than just sitting and listening, participants will be up, engaged, and choosing the topics that most interest them.
In attendance will be me, Sandy Bobal-Zuniga, founder of Colorado Springs Town Tidings, along with engaging segments featuring our very own Lisa Murray of Chefs for Seniors and Kristen Nielson of TogetherWON. Keynote speakers Kelly Bull from Hey Neighbor! and City Council member Nancy Henjum will share insights on community support and advocacy for seniors.
This event represents the best of what happens when community organizations collaborate to meet real needs. For just $25, attendees receive three educational classes and a Mediterranean-inspired lunch, making it both affordable and nourishing. Click here to get your ticket before they are all gone.
