The new Mary Starsmore Discovery Plaza, an outdoor classroom and gathering space at the Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center (2120 S. Cheyenne Cañon Rd), gets its ribbon-cutting today, 11am–3pm. The date honors naturalist Mary Starsmore, whose name already marks the visitor center, on what would've been her 124th birthday.

The space is built for school groups and nature programs at the mouth of North Cheyenne Cañon Park, so if your kids have ever come home raving about a field trip out there, this is the spot built to keep that going for the next batch of students.
