The #1 Roth Conversion Mistake That Costs Retirees
Most people missed the first Roth conversion window. History is offering a rare second chance — but not a long one.
With today's tax rates extended, IRA Millionaires have a brief stretch of historically low brackets left. When it closes, the math changes: higher rates, bigger required distributions, and fewer conversion opportunities each year you wait.
Craig Wear, CFP®, has spent 15+ years helping more than 3,000 families with $1M+ in IRAs plan Roth conversions — helping them avoid a projected $10B+ in lifetime taxes. His new book, Roth Conversion Reset, is the step-by-step playbook:
Lock in today's low rates
Avoid RMD surprises at 73
Protect your spouse from survivor taxes
Keep more for your heirs
The book is free — no credit card, no shipping. The full PDF lands in your inbox in minutes.

Why don't leopards play hide-and-seek?

🏈 Broncos Half-Price Tickets: TODAY at 10am

Broncos fans, set an alarm for 10am TODAY because this is one ticket sale where being a few minutes late could mean missing out.
A limited number of Denver Broncos 2026 regular-season tickets at Empower Field at Mile High will go on sale for half price, with tickets starting at just $23. The annual sale is always popular, and inventory is limited, so fans hoping to score seats should be ready when the sale opens.
There are a few important rules: purchases are limited to 4 tickets per household for one game only, and all sales are final. Half-price tickets also cannot be transferred or resold. Tickets will be delivered digitally to the purchaser's mobile device on game day.
Bottom line: don't plan to check later today. If you want a shot at these tickets, be on the ticket site and ready to go at 10am MT.
🐆 Cuteness Alert: Look Who's Peeking at You!

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has been keeping an adorable secret: a female Amur leopard cub was born May 5, and she's doing well behind the scenes with her mom, Anya.
The yet-to-be-named cub is Anya's second litter and her first singleton. Keepers say she's a little cautious around people but becoming more adventurous, climbing, playing with her mom and learning by watching everything Anya does. And apparently, she has already inherited her mom's love of whipped cream.
Beyond the cuteness, her birth is especially meaningful. Amur leopards are considered critically endangered, with only around 100 remaining in the wild in parts of Russia and China. The cub's parents, Anya and Anadyr, have genetics that are underrepresented within the population in human care, making her an important addition to conservation efforts.
For now, mother and cub will continue bonding away from public view. The zoo plans to share more updates when the little leopard gets her name and is ready to make her public debut.
🎂 Colorado Turns 150... Let's Shop!
Colorado is turning 150, and there's a fun way to celebrate while staying cool in the A/C, shopping local and supporting a good cause.
The August Artisan and Gift Show takes over the Norris Penrose Indoor Event Center on Saturday, August 1, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m., bringing together more than 100 vendors, artisans, artists and authors. Admission is free, making it an easy Saturday outing whether you're shopping for back-to-school, something handmade or just looking for a little Colorado birthday fun.
Families can enjoy gold digging for kids, a vintage carriage photo opportunity and free Colorado 150th birthday cake, while local singer Evie Valentine performs from 11am–2pm. Limited-edition Colorado commemorative pins will also be available, with only 500 being offered.
Even better, the event supports Status Code 4 Inc., a nonprofit providing mental health services to first responders and their families.
Volunteers are still needed, too. So if you'd rather be part of the celebration than simply attend, this is a chance to lend a hand while supporting the community.
📍 Norris Penrose Event Center, 945 Lower Gold Camp Rd.
🎟️ Free admission | Aug. 1 | 10am–4pm

🏛️ TRIVIA: What's Hidden Beneath the Old Auditorium Seats?

Courtesy of Wikipedia
Did you know the original seats in Colorado Springs' City Auditorium have been part of downtown life since 1923?
The building opened that year after citizens backed a bond issue to give the city a true municipal gathering place, and for more than a century it has done exactly that. From New Year's celebrations and theatrical performances to square dances, horticultural shows, roller derbies, and even political rallies and circus crowds, the auditorium has always been where Colorado Springs came together.

That history is part of what makes this week's seat sale feel so special. The original chairs are being offered to the public as the historic building undergoes renovation, giving locals a chance to take home a real piece of a place that has seen generations pass through its doors. Some of the seats still show their age in the best possible way, carrying the kind of wear that only comes from being used, loved, and remembered for decades.
Question: What unusual feature was built into the original City Auditorium seats?
There is also something wonderfully old-school about the auditorium itself. The building was designed by local architect Thomas MacLaren, and even the lobby reflects the era, with WPA (Works Progress Administration)-era murals by Broadmoor Academy artists Tabor Utley and Archie Musick. It is one of those rare downtown landmarks that can still make longtime residents pause and say, "I remember being there."
For readers who love local history, this is more than a seat sale. It is a reminder that some of Colorado Springs' best stories are not only written in books and photos. Sometimes they are in the places where people sat, cheered, celebrated, and came back again and again.
Answer: Wrought-iron hat racks beneath the seats. *Source
