I'm 63 With $1.5M. Can I Spend $10K a Month?

You’ve saved $1.5 million. Now comes the real test.

Can it produce $10,000 a month, or will that pace drain your portfolio?

Most retirees do not get a clear answer until it is too late.

The issue is not just how much you have. It is whether your portfolio was built to pay you, not just grow.

That difference can determine whether your money lasts decades or starts breaking down early.

Sequence of returns, taxes on withdrawals, healthcare costs, and whether the 4% rule still applies all play a role.

Fiduciary advisors created a breakdown showing what drives sustainable income and why the same $1.5M can produce very different outcomes.

If you have $1M or more invested, do not guess.

Why is Colorado weather like a teenager?

👉 Beautiful in the morning, dramatic by afternoon and back to normal by dinner!😂

🍩 Dunk a Donut - Break a World Record

How do you celebrate Colorado's 150th birthday? If you're the folks on Pikes Peak, you gather 250 people at the summit to simultaneously dunk donuts in coffee for a Guinness World Records attempt. That's the plan for Colorado Day, this Sat, Aug 1, starting at 11am at the Summit Visitor Center at 14,115 feet.

Participation is free with your summit admission, on a first-come, first-served basis, and gates open at 4:30am if you want to catch the sunrise too. It's the kind of once-in-a-lifetime Colorado moment worth planning for.

🥬 Before You Skip the Salad, Read This

A foodborne parasite called cyclospora has been making headlines this summer, causing serious stomach illness in several states. Federal investigators are looking at contaminated iceberg lettuce from Mexico, linked to Taco Bell locations, as a likely source in nine states including Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.

Here in Colorado, health experts say case counts are completely normal for this time of year. You don't need to skip salads, but you do need to wash all produce thoroughly right before eating, even bags marked pre-washed. If you develop persistent watery diarrhea that does not clear up on its own, see a doctor, because unlike some stomach bugs, this one requires medication to treat.

📢 That Booming Sound? Don't Call 911

If you heard a loud, echoing audio message near Fort Carson yesterday morning and weren't sure what it was, expect it again today. They are running a scheduled two-day test of its Giant Voice mass notification system, the large speaker towers installed around the base to warn the community about severe weather or safety threats.

The test runs about 10 minutes starting at 8:30am, will clearly state it's only a test from start to finish, and residents near the base are asked not to call 911 during the drill. If you're in the area this morning, it's planned and everything is fine. Full Story
