🐞 This Bug Could Change Colorado Springs
Colorado Springs has confirmed its first Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), an invasive beetle that quietly kills ash trees from the inside out. If you have an ash tree in your yard, now is the time to find out what your options are before it's too late.
About 1 in 5 trees in our urban forest is an ash tree. Without treatment, EAB kills nearly every ash it infects within 15 years, a potential $190 million loss in shade, clean air, and neighborhood character for our community.

🚗 Could Your Car Get You Ticketed?
Here's something a lot of drivers don't realize until it's too late: Colorado law requires both a front and a rear license plate on your vehicle. No front plate? Police can pull you over, and now they're warning that vehicles may be impounded for the violation.
Why the focus? Stolen and mismatched plates help criminals dodge automated license plate readers. A missing or fake plate isn’t just about how your car looks. It’s about making it harder to track crime. If your plate gets stolen, report it immediately. That report can protect you if someone uses your plate in a crime.
This is especially worth knowing if you just bought a new or used car and it came with only one plate, or if you're used to living in a state where a front plate isn't required. A quick check before you head out could save you a lot of hassle. Full Story
🐑 They're Counting Sheep on Pikes Peak
If you spotted a lot of trucks and binoculars on Pikes Peak this week, here's why: Colorado Parks and Wildlife sent more than 40 biologists, officers, and volunteers up the mountain to conduct their annual bighorn sheep herd survey.
Teams spread across 10 different survey routes to count and assess the herd's health. Last year's survey found 95 bighorn sheep, including 49 ewes. This year's results will be released soon, giving researchers a clearer picture of how this iconic Colorado herd is doing. Full Story
