Most of us have done it. You're running a little late, traffic is moving fast, and suddenly you're 10 miles over the limit. Turns out, you're not alone. A new AAA study found that a majority of drivers consider going 10 mph over the speed limit perfectly acceptable, and 3 in 10 believe no one actually drives the speed limit anymore.

The study found that 31% of drivers speed mainly to pass slower traffic. But AAA is raising a serious flag: when speeding becomes normalized, it also becomes more deadly. Speeding was a factor in roughly 30% of all traffic fatalities in 2024, making it one of the country's most persistent road safety problems. Full Story

If you spot smoke or flames near the Colorado Springs Airport this morning, no need to worry. The City of Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs Airport, Fire Department, and Police Department are conducting a planned full-scale emergency response exercise from 9am-noon.

This type of drill is required by the FAA every three years to test how quickly and effectively teams can respond to a major airport incident. Smoke and possible flames might be visible on the northwest side of the airport. No flights are supposed to be impacted.
