βοΈ What's $63M Changing at COS Airport?

If you've flown through Colorado Springs Airport recently, things may look a little different. The $63 million ElevateCOS expansion has been quietly transforming the airport since 2023, and the results are hard to miss.
12 gates are now wider and taller, terrazzo flooring has replaced the old carpet, and electrochromic windows tint automatically to control glare. Global Entry launched in January, a Colorado Craft brewery opened in April, and a food court anchored by a Brother Luck concept is still ahead. The project is backed by $27.5 million in federal infrastructure funding.
The airport's 20-year master plan calls for doubling the current gate count. And if you want to settle in before your flight, the Global Lounge Network at COS offers day passes starting at $38. Full Story

ποΈ Skip the Terminal, Start the Weekend
If you just finished reading about the current state of the airport, you're probably already feeling the 'travel fatigue.' The long lines, the luggage shuffle, the race against the clock. It's enough to make you want to stay home.
But Labor Day is meant for more than just logistics. It's meant for exhaling. When Anja Wynne started creating these retreat properties in Breckenridge and Santa Fe, she wasn't trying to build hotels. She was trying to offer sanctuaries. She wanted to create spaces where the 'traveling' stops the moment you pull into the driveway.
She knows that the best part of a holiday weekend isn't the journey. It's the moment you finally stop stressing.
With a few rare openings left for Labor Day. You have two ways to reclaim your peace:
The Breckenridge Escape: Where the alpine air is crisp, the pines are tall, and the only thing on your schedule is the sunset over the peaks.
The Santa Fe Retreat: Where the adobe walls hold the warmth of the day, and the high-desert sky turns a shade of violet you have to see to believe.
Don't spend your holiday weekend navigating terminals or traffic. You deserve a relaxing getaway. Spend it in a space that was built to help you slow down and relax.

π Your Neighbor's Front Porch Bakery
Colorado Springs has a new kind of bakery, and it might be right down the street. Front-porch farm stands are popping up across the city, where neighbors bake fresh sourdough, cookies, and pastries at home and sell them on a simple self-serve stand. No cashier, no receipts. Just a QR code, a cash box, and trust.
Ashley and Carlee launched Dainty Dough Farm Stand at 1397 Celtic St. in May and now welcome 30 to 40 customers every weekend. Stuffed sourdough loaves go for $14, made without preservatives and heavy on inclusions. A few neighborhoods over, Amanda opened Three Little Petals on Nokomis Circle and sold out her first weekend, powered by 36,000 TikTok views in just a few days.
The trend keeps growing. Nine farm stands are now open across different neighborhoods on weekends, with most items priced under $15. If you want to find one near you, below is the full list of locations and hours from the Gazette article. Full Story
