🚧 Expect Delays: N Academy Repaving Starts
Yesterday, overnight repaving work started on N Academy between Voyager and Shrider Rd as part of the 2C Road Improvements program. Lane closures will take place from 7pm to 7am daily for three weeks to minimize traffic disruption on this busy route. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the closures, but drivers are advised to detour via East Woodmen or avoid the area. Milling will be done in the first week, followed by asphalt installation beginning Sept 15. The project is expected to finish by the end of Sept, weather permitting.

📍 El Paso County’s Affordable Housing Map
El Paso County has unveiled an Affordable Housing Directory to aid low- to moderate-income residents in finding affordable housing. The directory features an interactive map and specialized filters that make it easier to locate housing options in cities like Colorado Springs, Fountain, and Monument. The resource is part of the county's effort to alleviate the growing housing challenges faced by many in the region. The data, though compiled from public sources, may have occasional inaccuracies, and users are encouraged to contact the county with any corrections.
🏠 What You Don’t Know About Renter Rights
This Friday, Sept 13, from 1-3pm, the City of Colorado Springs is offering a free “Renter Rights 101” workshop to help residents understand their housing rights. The workshop, accessible in-person or online, will address crucial topics such as lease basics, repairs, deposits, eviction, and recent legislative changes in Colorado.
Attendees can also connect with local legal and housing resources. Though the session won’t provide individual legal advice, it offers essential knowledge for both renters and those assisting them. This is part of the city’s broader effort to raise awareness of renter rights, with support from several community partners.
🧘♀️ Gentle Moves to Strengthen Your Core
Core strength is key for seniors’ mobility and balance. Two level options for each exercise reduces the risk of injury, improve posture, and promote a healthier, more active lifestyle.
