🧓 Senior Housing Opens in the Springs

Paloma Garden, a newly opened 125-unit affordable housing complex in Colorado Springs, is giving low-income seniors a much-needed break from high housing costs. Created by Volunteers of America, the community is designed specifically for adults 62 and older living on fixed incomes.
With rent prices outpacing Social Security payments for many, the development aims to prevent housing insecurity and even homelessness, as experienced by at least one new resident before moving in. The project took four years to bring to life, and demand for senior housing like this is only growing. *Source

📊 Are Rate Cuts Coming—or Not? Find Out

Mortgage rates remain stubbornly high in 2025, with average 30-year rates near 6.8%. While the Federal Reserve has hinted at two possible rate cuts later this year, it’s currently holding steady as it navigates economic uncertainty, including the effects of new tariffs and policy shifts. The housing market remains tight, with affordability challenged by elevated rates and construction costs.
Refinance activity has slowed, especially for homeowners who locked in lower rates in previous years. Unless inflation eases and economic conditions stabilize soon, rates may not drop significantly until later in the year—leaving buyers and sellers in a holding pattern. *Read Source
