🍻 Celebrate Smart: Free Ride Credit Details

As we head into one of the busiest and most celebratory weekends of the summer, The Wilhite Law Firm is stepping up once again with its free rideshare program. Colorado Springs residents can receive up to $20 back on a one-way Uber or Lyft ride home if they’re 21 or older—just pay the driver and submit a quick reimbursement form online.
The goal? To make it easier for folks to make the smart choice and avoid drinking and driving. It’s a simple way to stay safe and keep our streets accident-free while still enjoying all the festivities. Full Story

🎟️ Rodeo Tickets + Parking Tips

The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, a longstanding Colorado Springs tradition since 1937, gallops back into town July 8–12, bringing five days of action-packed rodeo events, military appreciation nights, and the highly anticipated NFR Open with over $1 million in prizes.
From the patriotic July 5 parade to the family fun zone, pony rides, and mutton bustin’, there’s something for all ages to enjoy. New this year: paid parking at Norris-Penrose, but free shuttle options are available downtown. And with all proceeds going to support local military families, it’s more than just a good time—it’s a cause worth cheering for. Full Story

🌮 Which Local Restaurant Just Failed?

Health inspectors recently made their rounds in Colorado Springs, and the results were a mixed bag. Juicy Seafood, located at I-25 and Garden of the Gods, failed its initial inspection due to glove and sanitizing issues but passed after making corrections. La Casita on Woodmen near Rangewood is still working to address violations and awaits re-inspection.
Meanwhile, several local favorites earned top scores, including Sasquatch Cookies (Dublin Blvd), Marco’s Pizza (Briar Village Point), Wingstop (N Academy), and Springs Wings (S Academy near Fort Carson), which stood out for staying spotless even while the owner was away.
Health inspection results across El Paso County are available online for those wanting to check their favorite spots. Full Story

🥾 A Forest Stroll Not Far From Home - Cathedral Pines Trailhead
Recommended hike from our friend Heath at Colorado Fan Club who was there yesterday. Cathedral Pines Trailhead, located off Vessey Road just outside Colorado Springs, is a beautiful and relatively easy 5-mile loop through Ponderosa forests and meadows with views of Pikes Peak.
The crushed-blacktop parking lot makes for easy access, and the trail’s wide paths and mild elevation gain make it perfect for families and leashed dogs. With options to extend the hike to nearly 9 miles using side trails, it’s an ideal spot for those staying local this July 4th weekend but still craving a nature reset.
Location: Cathedral Pines Trailhead - 5785 Vessey Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80908
