๐๏ธ Affordable Vision, Realized

When Claudia Deats Rodgers helped launch Greccio Housing 35 years ago, she never imagined sheโd one day live in one of its communities. But life has a poetic way of coming full circle. Today, at age 83, Claudia is a proud resident of The AtriumโGreccioโs first senior apartment complex for low-income residents.
Her path to Greccio began with service as a religious sister and evolved into addressing the city's growing need for affordable housing. Since its start in 1990, Greccio has grown to 27 properties and 845 affordable units, helping over 1,100 people find stability. Claudia waited three years on a housing list like everyone else before moving into The Atrium in 2021. Today, her legacy is honored on Greccioโs โFounders Wall,โ and her story stands as a testament to the power of community-driven solutions and compassion. *Source

๐ Mortgage Relief or Mirage?

After a long climb, mortgage rates are starting to easeโoffering a small breath of hope for both buyers and refinancers. In September, the Fed made its first interest rate cut of 2025, with more possibly on the way. Mortgage rates have dropped to around 6.3%, down from over 7% earlier this year, but experts caution that major drops may not be coming anytime soon.
While the Fedโs moves affect lending markets, mortgage rates are also influenced by broader economic signals and buyer behavior. That means even if rates fall slightly, competition could heat up, pushing home prices higher. Whether youโre planning to buy or refinance, financial advisors say itโs wise to focus on what you can afford nowโnot just hoping for the โperfectโ rate later. *Read Source
