🍗 Is Thanksgiving More Affordable?

While the cost of Thanksgiving dinner has gone down a bit this year nationwide, Coloradans are still paying more than most. A typical meal for ten runs over $61 in Colorado—about $6 more than the national average, though still over $13 cheaper than last year. Much of this is due to our dry climate and limited in-state food production, which means many holiday staples have to be shipped in. 🎺 USAFA Hosts Free Holiday Show

The U.S. Air Force Academy is welcoming the public to its holiday concert series, Holly & Ivy, hosted on campus at Arnold Hall Theatre for the first time. Held on Dec 3, 4, and 9, the evening begins with a 6:00pm reception featuring cadet musicians and a chance to meet the faces behind the uniforms. The concert follows at 7:00pm with seasonal favorites and even a surprise guest performance. It’s a festive way for the Academy to show appreciation to the Colorado Springs community, and while it’s free to attend, tickets are required and can be reserved online.

Holiday travel doesn’t have to mean high prices or stressful drives—especially for Coloradans who explore alternatives like Bustang, Amtrak, and Greyhound. With expanded service from Colorado Springs, Bustang now offers more daily round-trips and comfortable, wifi-equipped buses to make getting to Denver or even Vail easier and more affordable.
Amtrak and Greyhound are also increasing capacity to help travelers avoid the uncertainty of air travel and the unpredictability of winter roads. Whether you’re heading up the Front Range or out of state, these options could save you time, money, and peace of mind this holiday season. Full Story
