π§ Road Work Returns, Hereβs Where

Starting today, construction has resumed on Garden of the Gods Road as part of an ongoing safety improvement project near Northpark Dr and Mark Dabling. Eastbound lanes will see closures first, though at least one lane in each direction will stay open. The work includes installing new traffic signals designed to improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians, with the full project expected to wrap up in late January 2026. Drivers should plan for slower travel, watch for workers and equipment, and follow posted signage.

π₯ Grass Fires Contained Near I-25

Last night, the Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to multiple grass fires burning near northbound I-25 between the Nevada and Cimarron exits. Drivers were asked to avoid the area while crews worked, as flames spread across several spots. By around 8:20pm, firefighters had most of the fire knocked down and remained on scene to mop up lingering hot spots and prevent flare-ups. The cause of the fires is still being investigated.
π Safe Parking Program For Homeless

A local healthcare professional is leading efforts to launch a safe-parking pilot through Ascending to Health, designed for individuals and families living in their vehicles. The program would allow up to 20 vehicles per site to park overnight in fenced, monitored lots with access to restrooms, showers, food, case management, healthcare support, and help navigating housing and benefits. Participants would follow clear rules focused on safety and accountability, and stays would be time-limited to encourage forward progress.
The initiative is gaining strong interest from potential participants and volunteers, and organizers hope to launch soon, providing data to inform city decisions as Colorado Springs continues conversations around vehicle camping policies. Full Story

π΄ The Real Reason You Canβt Sleep
This sleep method flips the usual advice on its head by focusing less on bedtime routines and more on how you move, breathe, and reset throughout the day.
