🧼 The Soap That Saved This Local Man's Life
✨ How making soap became making amends 🌱
When Blake Beyers found himself at rock bottom in 2019, struggling with alcoholism as COVID-19 began sweeping across the country, he never imagined a Christmas Day experiment would transform his life. Using fireplace ash and a curious spirit, Blake and his children Andrew and Kendall created their first batch of soap...a moment that would spark an extraordinary journey of recovery and purpose.
Clean RD Soap Company isn't just about luxurious, tallow-based soap. It's the story of a father rebuilding his life, drawing on his background in nutrition and food science to create something meaningful during financial hardship.
What began as Kendall's STEM program project quickly gained fans when users discovered the exceptional quality. Blake's meticulous three-month curing process creates bars that lather richly, rinse completely clean, and last significantly longer than commercial alternatives. The nutrient-dense tallow from Ranch Foods Direct provides skin-nourishing benefits that mass-produced soaps simply can't match.
The company name, Clean RD, carries dual meaning. The RD stands for Registered Dietitian, reflecting Blake's professional background, while "Clean" represents both the product's purpose and Blake's personal journey to sobriety. He employs others on recovery journeys and creates "memory bars" honoring those lost to addiction.
Find Clean RD soaps at these local Colorado Springs retailers:
Ranch Foods Direct: 1228 E Fillmore & 4635 Town Center Dr (both locations)
Hatch and Gather: 701 W Colorado Ave
Bread and Butter Neighborhood Market: 602 S Nevada
Poor Richard's: 324 1/2 N Tejon (Downtown)
Roadrunner Bookstore: Mobile¨
For the full selection, visit CleanRDsoaps.com to order directly and explore their soap making workshops.
Your skin deserves more than just cleansing…it deserves nourishment with purpose. When you lather up with Clean RD soap, you're not just washing away dirt; you're supporting a neighbor's journey from darkness into light. Feel the difference on your skin while knowing your purchase helps write someone's comeback story. Isn't that worth far more than ordinary soap?

🚧 Galley Road Lanes Closed This Week

Two lanes of Galley Road are temporarily closed between Parkway and Babcock Road as Colorado Springs Utilities completes a water service line replacement tied to a nearby business. One lane in each direction remains open, and the closures are expected to end by Thursday afternoon.
The repair is considered unusual because utility records did not show a second service line in the area, which was discovered after concerns were raised about water quality. Crews are replacing the line at no cost to the business, but the work requires digging through part of the property, sidewalk, and roadway, leading to short-term sidewalk and lane closures just east of an already active bridge project. 🏛️ Mayor Yemi Joins Statewide Push

At the start of the 2026 legislative session, Mayor Yemi partnered with Mike Johnston (Denver Mayor) and Mike Coffman (Aurora Mayor) to present a united set of priorities to Governor Polis and the Colorado General Assembly. Their shared focus includes strengthening mental health treatment and competency laws to better protect communities, addressing concerns around artificial intelligence regulations that could impact jobs and innovation, pushing for more effective responses to retail theft affecting local businesses, and safeguarding voter-approved funding for housing and public safety.
For Colorado Springs residents, the message signals a coordinated effort to ensure state decisions reflect on-the-ground realities while honoring what voters have already approved.
⚠️ Don’t Copy-Paste This Scam

CSPD says scammers are increasingly targeting everyday computer users by posing as trusted tech help through search results and fake AI chatbot pages. The scam often starts when someone searches online to fix a common issue, like low disk space, and clicks a sponsored link that looks legitimate.
The page may walk users through believable steps, until it asks them to paste code into their computer’s command prompt. That single step can silently install malware, allowing criminals to access files, passwords, and even control the device long-term. The scam is called ClickFix and police are urging residents to slow down, avoid running commands they don’t fully understand, and be especially cautious when “fixes” come from ads or unfamiliar sources. When something feels off, stepping away is far safer than trying to power through a quick fix.
