👩🚒 CSFD Training Is Back

CSFD has officially reinstated its 2026 Fire Training Academy after it was previously set to be canceled due to budget cuts.
Thanks to tax revenue from recreational marijuana sales, funding was secured and the academy is now fully operational. That means 36 new recruits have already begun their 18-week journey to become Colorado Springs firefighters.
This academy plays a critical role in keeping staffing levels where they need to be in a growing city like ours. Recruits will train in structural and wildland firefighting, hazardous materials response, EMT skills, driver/operator certification, and other specialized areas essential to emergency response.
It’s a reminder that investing in training today helps ensure our community stays protected tomorrow.
🎶 From Controversy to Billboard

Colorado Springs' Ford Amphitheater has been named a top national venue by Billboard magazine after only two seasons of operation, earning the title of Top West Coast Amphitheater. The recognition highlights the venue's successful bookings and impact, even as it continues to address noise concerns from nearby residents through significant new investments in sound control.

🥇 Gold, Silver & Record Runs!

On Day 5 in Milan-Cortina, Team USA delivered record-breaking performances, historic firsts, and clutch moments that set the tone for the entire Games.
Here’s how the medals stacked up:
🥇 Jordan Stolz — Gold, Speedskating (1000m)
→ Broke the Olympic record by nearly one full second
→ Largest Olympic winning margin since 1984
→ First Olympic race, first Olympic gold
🥇 Liz Lemley — Gold, Women’s Moguls
🥈 Jaelin Kauf — Silver, Women’s Moguls
→ First U.S. 1-2 finish in Olympic women’s freestyle skiing history
🥈 Ryan Cochran-Siegle — Silver, Super-G
→ Second straight Olympic silver in the event
🥈 Madison Chock & Evan Bates — Silver, Ice Dance
→ Near-perfect free dance, less than one point from gold
And it didn’t stop there.
🏂 Chloe Kim topped halfpipe qualifying just one month after tearing her labrum.
🥌 The U.S. men’s curling team won their Olympic debut over Czechia.
🛷 Marcus Mueller and Ansel Haugsjaa posted the fastest first run in doubles luge, leading by just 0.003 seconds.
⛸️ Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko earned a season-best 119.47 in free dance.
⛸️ Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik placed fifth in their Olympic debut.
🛷 Chevonne Forgan and Sophia Kirkby completed the first-ever women’s doubles luge run in Olympic history.
Day 5 made one thing clear: Team USA came ready.
